Does anyone know how active Crushbone gets during peak US hours? I am looking for a fun place to duo/trio/group. I know this place has great spots and an amazing ZEM!

Not been there in about 6 months but it's always quite busy. The earlier you can get on the better I'd say :)
At Level 11, also have a think about going to Steamfont near the minotaur cave (maybe take a tank and healer with you of the same level)... kill elementals, harpies etc...
One of Faydwer's best kept secrets :)

Thanks! I might have to check it out! Even though you just leaked the SECRET! The orcs combined with the CB belts will be a nice touch until 14 or so id say?

CB belt XP slows down at around Level 10 from memory. Still nice to have, and a good seller if not from people fast tracking their alts... but there's alternatives out there for sure.
You'd be good in Steamfont by the mino cave til around 15ish, then head to Unrest and join a yard trash group...always fun :)

Crushbone is insane. /w all crushbone will tell you too many results. I had terrible luck as a cleric trying to find a group there. I gave up. Orc hill wasn't too bad, and didn't seem as perma camped, and it still drops belts. Its depends on your class/race really, but I enjoyed camping Blackburrow on my cleric, still busy but not insane. Gnoll teeth are just as good as belts, except you can't sell them.

Oh yeah I forgot about the fangs! Any idea what level they are good until? The run from CB to Kal is about the same as BB to Qyenos

I just killed in BB from 5 till 11 and from the fangs ( 4 stacks maybe turned all in at once) I was boosted to a few kills from 15. I died three times trying to turn in the fangs too so a good race will prolly get into 15 easy

RIP fangs...
So i posted a while back that i took my ikky necro to BB at 4...leveled him to 12 and collected 300 fangs....got all of 12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20, and most of 21 i believe...if i wasnt so lazy i would look for the post and quote it, but im just not pro at Forumquest.
In came the nerf bat and they knocked that sumbitch right outta the park !
I took my ogre shaman there at lvl 1, got him to lvl 13 and collected 527 fangs...they just barely dinged me to 19 =( ouch !
So, dont count on too much help from the fangs.

With a cleric you can start a group fairly easily in most places. If you have past exp playing cleric, for a number of reasons here on this server it's probably best to start one if they are pugs. Of course if you are trying to get into an already camped local, it's not always an option to just start a group. And if you are just a bad player (eg don't pay attention or watching TV etc), well people just remember your character name and not send invites or join your groups.
For CB, you should be able to find a group below level 10 pretty easily (you mentioned orc hill so assuming lower than 10). At that level there are three camps below lvl10. If you are not getting a group than there probably isn't a group. You have the entrance area, trainer hill, and that 'back' ramp area across from the entrance, often lvl5-9 groups (lvl4-7 at ent area).
Past lvl10 it can be hard to find groups there at times. But just usually when you have some lvl20+ player decide he is going to come in and farm belts and pads and just stick it to lower level players trying to form exp groups. I've even seen anon charmers in there in off hours killing the entire zone using D'vinn (literally everything) and then have their alt standing in gfay selling mass quantities of belts right after. And it's a horrible place to swarm kite for fail bards which are usually doing it to farm too. CB has great xp groups, but on the downside it also draws certain farmers that ruin it for them.

Good luck actually getting groups, I found myself begging for a spot more than I did actually getting XP. Something about that zone has people act like elitist asses about LOWBIE GROUPS so don't expect much if you aren't twinked or know the right people.
Probably have more luck in EC.

Part of why I love Everquest is that it is "self-policing". If you go the THE most popular zones, then your xp will often suffer because of lack of mobs to pull, extended group finding times, extended camp finding times, trains, and all sorts of things that slow down/stop xp. If you go to a NOT popular zone, you may extend your group finding times, but camp finding times/trains etc are a non-issue. Its all about balance. I personally enjoy finding a group, kicking back for 3 hours, and just grinding out xp while chatting it up, and reliving the olden days. I like it to be steady, and "boring". The #1 skill in Everquest that isn't tracked is group building. Building social contacts to people you enjoy hunting with, group composition, camp/zone selection based upon above criteria, and initiative to create groups. As you play and encounter more people you should be getting better at this. Take charge of your group destiny, go explore interesting things that no one else does, to hell if its not "efficient', its probably WAY more efficient than most people realize. We have all played this game for far too long, and we fall into our same old habits. Everquest rewards and forces you to innovate, to adapt, and change your tactics based upon conditions presented by other players. Go on an adventure sometime, you might find its more efficient!

Our little trio that just started has observed these disruptions as well. We'll be staying until we get a shiny brass shield for our warrior and cleric, then we will be moving to East Commonlands. My bard is already there, and the quality level of players and groups is noticeable.
The one non-classic change I would recommend for this server is on they had on Firiona Vie (RP) server back in the day: "Trivial Loot Code." Greenies don't drop nice gear. Farming by higher level characters was thereby thwarted.

Is it non-classic if it was on a proper EQ server? ;)

Not so packed in the off hours, but that's great for getting a group. With the stupid level gaps in the mobs, groups are really helpful in there.
