View Full Version : Best class to solo end game content for money?

I am just looking for the class who can most reliably lock down camps at high end levels and successfully farm for items that can sell for massive amounts of coin. I was wondering who is the best? Enchanter? Shaman? Any input would be great. Thank you all in advance.

Check out the solo artist challenge. Depending on the camp and your style (as well as how geared you are) you prob want a chanter, necro, shammy.

Lawl, so original.

Seriously though, rangers can solo most end-game targets since arrows don't trigger summoning. It takes for fucking ever, but it works.

Is there a link to that challenge on these forums somewhere? Assuming that I have 0 gear what might be my best option? I made a druid because I thought I could make some good money for my first character but I really want to be able to take camps for uber rare items down, the ones like fungi and others that sell for like 75k+. Would enchanter or necro be more suited for me given what camps I am trying to take down? Thanks in advance +)

bumped it, not sure how it disappeared.

I don't know that Fungi can actually be soloed atm at least without assistance on the pull, but both Enchanter and Shaman can lock down Heiro or pretty much any soloable cash camp. Its probably easier for an Enchanter in general to both reach and hold most camps solo right now though due to having Invis, IVU, and Calm to move around dungeons with. Only thing with that is that whenever Velious drops Enchanters are gonna be overtaken by Shamans due to higher MR in general on that continent.

If you don't want to spend a ton on spells (torpor and dots) then go with an enchanter.

I have an ench and sham, but would suggest shaman. With velious on the horizon thinking the shaman will be more fun.

Not enough shammies on P99, definitely needs us some more ;)

If only the Shaman race choices didn't suck so much, i'd totally make one. Omg Gnome shammy would be so cool!

It would be more interesting if people would rate the classes that normally don't get named.

It wouldn't really because they can't solo. That's why no one talks about them.

They're all rated "you'll be dead"

The solo artist thread lists classes accomplishing things other than just enchanter and shaman. So that would be incorrect.

90%+ correct is more than enough for a stereotype, so yeah it is correct.

Other than the occasional Necro, or Druid killing the easy named in HS North, Shaman and Enchanter are pretty much the only 2 that can really complete those solo.

Mage and Enchanter. No competition.

Is the Mage going to sell mod rods to the enchanter and shaman as they solo? Or offer to coh the necro to their solo camp?

Welcome, Shaman #7234782934

You actually spawn after creation as a level 55 in kc with a fungi, an epic, and a macro that announces to the rest of the zone "captain camped!"...

Mage and Enchanter. No competition.

I assumed that because of the buffs/debuffs, crowd control and being able to have a better pet than a mage (charm), that enchanter beats out the mage in this instance? Is that fair to say?

Mage isn't even in the conversation. It's basically shm with puppet strings > enc/shm >>> necro >>>> everything else

Shaman with strings is godly.

Mage with a few bags of wooly nets can do a lot of the endgame soloing that is considered elite. Epic takes it to a new level as well. Need to be an Enchanter to see through walls for roamers though.

And good luck getting an epic.

Mage can solo great cash camps without epic. Epic makes it ez mode

enchanter/necro/shaman are the best currently depending on what you want to do.

Want to murder a bunch of level 40 mobs or a warrior mob that doesn't summon? necro is the best right now.

want to fight multiple mobs at the same time with a chance of death all the time? Go enchanter

want to fight a high level mob that summons? geared shammy with torpor is the way to go.

This changes in velious as chanters get significantly weaker for soloing and shamans grow in strength. Necro's have to deal with more resists, but when root/snare stacks it becomes safer.

I farm some of the same camps 60 shammys and chanters farm, with my mage. Necrosis, Efreeti, Tranix, undead tower in the hole. Mage can pretty much do any of those camp at 60 with just basic gear 2400+ mana.
*A shitload of rootnets help and are necessary for some camps.

Really? My ranger is 35, so I don't know. But I'm pretty goddamned incredulous right now :p

I haven't actually tried it on P99, but I'm 98% sure that's false.
