Changes to the landscape on Red

Nihilum disbanded, the mega-zerg dismantled. Bunch of smaller guilds are around/popping up. Dragons being left up for days even. This is a great time for a guild of young intrepids to take a crack at Red. If a guild decided to move over to red, and were motivated to level, you could be in the 50's in 2 weeks. Exp bonus is really grand, +60% exp PER PERSON in the group. Get yo grind on. If you move over, ppl are always willing to help new players to the server with a little plat and a "newb weapon" sitting in the bank.

nizzar got caught for RMT, and after all the other bans/suspensions he's taken, they told him he could never lead the guild again, could only play as a normal "member" - month later, nizzar booted heartbrand, HB and some other guildies come forward with proof that nizzy still leading the guild, and officers are also useing some macro-bot to up their tradeskills overnight. --> nizzar banned from ever playing on the server again, + guild disbanded by derubael. pras

I would honestly love to make a char on Red. But every time I try to play there I get discouraged by how dead the game feels with such a low pop. Never saw more than 3 people in any given zone. Felt like I was playing EQ offline. Not a fun experience. If we could magically get to like ~500 players avg on Red I'd be all over it 100%

If you advertised this, people would greet your group with gear and buffs. You can easily grind to 15 in three hours with a full group, even if you don't have PL.

Exp is insane on this server and it is super easy to get started. The only things that make it tough are Twink PK's, lack of plat for spells, lack of low level gear for sale if you have plat.

Red Crescent is forming to be an anti-PK guild, which should help, and other players can pitch in with everything else.

Enable boxing to help red get off the ground. The biggest issue as illustrated in this thread is people just don't have enough pals to dive in with, making the journey lonely and hard. If you could box a support class, you and a couple of friends could fill groups with ease and have fun. Once population stabilized and what not you could remove it. This combined with cleaning up OOC and toxic players and you'll have that thrive.

I started a new char a few days ago and have seen a new group of 3-4 start twice now. Last night I logged in and there were 2 others to group with in Kurns around 15 and there was a group of 4 under level 10 in FoB.

If there were to be a second blue server people would probably want it on a classic timeline etc etc and that's probably not achievable til the final Velious patch.

No point splitting the blue pop in half at least til then.

You can turn in your book on blue and PVP so technically if enough people did it it could be a PVP box.

I think it should work in reverse on red, like I said, I like low pop servers, and join in a second if this were enabled.

Wouldn't it be funny if the staff decided that since there seems to be so much raid drama that all raiding guilds be forced to flag for PVP so that they could simply fight for a raid target? Make all raid targets only able to be engaged by people flagged for PVP and anyone that gets on the hate list that isn't flagged will be banished from the zone similar to what Naggy and Vox do for level 53+ players...

Would definitely add some excitement and something to look forward to at 60 :)

Well again, Sunday evenings are a nightmare to XP on blue anywhere that's remotely worthwhile.

Sure you can probably kill a few mobs at the LOIO lake area, or head into Nurga with your own group and be fine... but Unrest/MM/CoM/KC/Seb are all full of angry people who want to XP but are getting mobs jacked that are usually up for that camp :p

I never liked PVP on Everquest, for all of the obvious reasons. However, after getting to level 56 on Blue and seeing just how over populated it is, inflated the market is and waiting lists to raid my buddy and I decided to give it a shot.

Best decision ever.

Every interaction on Red99 is infinitely more interesting whether they be friend or foe.

Never had so much generosity from strangers or felt such extreme hate for greifers. But I wouldn't have it any other way!

I still suck at PVP and I play the worst PVP class, but it doesn't matter. The experience I have had is vastly superior to Blue.

My honest opinion...find a buddy and give it a shot.
