I've followed the install instructions to a tee, played in both windowed and full screen. Switched the compatibility to XP service pack 2 (as instructed).

The game runs FLAWLESSLY. No problem logging on, smooth frame rate. Zone and camp without issue.

-HOWEVER-

Anywhere from 5-25 minutes in the screen just turns black. No cursor. If there was a sound playing when it froze it repeats. My monitor shuts off as if in power saving mode. I tried removing native win 7 power saving features. Installed "insomnia" which prevents the monitor from shutting down. Doesn't help. Still crashes and monitor shuts off. Can't ctrl+alt+delete, tried some other shortcuts too. No success. Have to hard reboot.

Anybody else having this issue?

This sounds exactly what is happening to me. Happened today and yesterday as well. However after a hard reboot I can play again. Anyone else?

The only way I have fixed it is to play through "Win EQ 2" permanently. Anybody with issues should download it, it might fix your problem

Doesn't sound like power management.

powercfg /requests in an admin command prompt will tell you whether EQ is keeping your display from sleeping.

Anyway, like I say, doesn't sound like power mgmt. Sounds like a hard lock, possibly from video driver or hardware.

Run some stress tests to reproduce, check heat levels, run memtest, change drivers etc.

I never used Win EQ 2 but I head it corrects some issues related to multi-core CPUs Don't know a whole lot about that but it's worth a shot like Ripptorr says

If wineq doesnt help you sounds trying to reinstall your video driver might help or worse case scenario is your video card is shot.
