I feel like I miss a lot of things with a single window, and then when I try to split my chat/combat windows I feel spammed with useless info.

How many chat windows do you use? How do you filter your chat windows?

I just started using GINA for my kill timers. Now I'm interested if there is a good way to parse chat logs for DPS? Pet DPS? Money per kill/hour?

1) group/say/ooc/shout
2) damage to enemy/pet damage to enemy
3) damage to me (turn off other misses)
4) /who bound to "A" key.
5) tells

That's the red setup - blue doesn't have the /who window

3 Windows for me:

1st has all my chat (shout, ooc, randoms, say, tells, etc.)
2nd has all my combat (skills, melee, spells)
3rd is exclusive to auction for EC so I don't get my chat window spammed when I'm there.

similar, altho its nice to have things like spell resists and skillups outside of fight spam

I do what Halius does. Interested in trying out Yumyum's damage to/from windows.

3 windows for me as well.

1 - All chat
2 - All combat + spells + effects
3 - Others hits and misses

Surprised so many people have this many windows. I just have two windows: one for stuff I care about (non-melee damage, /say, /gu, /g, /ooc, /tell, /shout, faction, delicious experience messages) and the other for stuff I don't care about (/auction, melee, most spell stuff). I only have /auc in the second window so that I can keep up with guild chat, etc. when I'm in EC. This setup works pretty well for me although I'm sure it could be optimized a bit.

for my first window i have misses filtered out and others hits/misses filtered out so i can see the red spam from spell resists very easily in the window and i do have my skillups in 3rd window. forgot about that.

1.) Group, Tell, Guild, Raid
2.) Resists, everything not in 1 or 3.
3.) (small window) Melee, Spells, Skills, Experience, abbreviated outputs for the first 2.

"So many boxes"
Make em clearer and all is well ... Big screen=real estate for junk :)

1 for all chat
2 for all combat
3 for things I don't wanna see (misses, skills, pet talk)
(4) when I'm in EC for /auc

Box 1 set to 40%faded transparency
Box 2 set to 30% faded
Box 3 squished down so small text isn't visible - normal transparency @ 0%

I finally went all classic. Using Velious UI instead of my previous "default". Still have a similar layout to what I used to use. Everything is a bit unaligned right now, a consequence of the way I have to move the windows around and such. These windows are also usually much larger, they are shortened right now because when I stream I like to give a larger field of view (but must cover up my chat windows with a black bar).

Overall I like this much better than the "default" UI. I feel I have much more overall text space, but keep the same organizational features I liked about my previous UI. This was pretty much the setup I used when I still played as well, though obviously the chat windows didn't need to be expanded so often.

Previous UI for comparison:

Just found out about this, thanks.

I love the Velious UI and have been using it from day 1. Only disadvantage is that you can't see mana amount - sometimes I switch over to default to check the difference between a couple of pieces of gear - but shit's classic.

If I have ALL Melee and ALL Spells clicked to a combat window. DOT Damage still shows up in my chat. What am I missing?
