View Full Version : Age Poll Results
I've compiled the results from the age poll (http://project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=16316) since it was bumped to page 2. You can still reply to the age poll if you want to, but it's not gonna be added to the results anymore.
Total number of entries: 73
Mean age: 29.1
Median age: 28
Attached is a bar graph of the ages.

Do you guys like mean or median better? Think about whatever data set you like. Take for instance poops per sock. Which number would you rather have, mean or median, to get an idea about what the data is like?
The reason I ask is because I used to have a prof whom after every test would give the high, low, and the median score. And I was like, eff that give me the mean not the median.

I like the mean better, but if you have both you can get an idea for how skewed the results are. A mean with a bar graph would be my ideal.

My age isn't shown in that diagram :(
I always find the mean more useful.

I prefer the data set if I can get it. Failing that, Mean, Median, Min/Max, and Variance are the best.

It depends on your data.
