Hello all! I am awaiting my Titanium discs arrival with great anticipation.

I played Live from velious on so I heard about some specific game features as they changed over time, as well as experiencing some changes to the game personally. As I am not sure what changes are just part of the client and therefore unchangeable I thought I would ask about some specifics.

Let me add that I have read and searched for these answers and could not find them.

1. There was a monk mitigation nerd around velious. Is that in place now as unchangeable code or can monks mitigate like original? I read a post about mobs hitting way too accurately, but at the end of the thread it seemed to indicate that had been fixed.

2. Do necromancer pets still tear up mobs with fine steel daggers?

3. Does FD as necro allow you to FD while your mob is engaged, and after that pet has been killed the mob NOT aggro you? I played a shard that FD was FUBAR and you had to poof the pet before you did it.

3. Are there a lot of shaman on the server? I have never played one and as I remember live they could both solo (albeit slowly) and were very wanted for slows all the way through Velious.

Sorry for the length of the post.

Can only really answer your last question. There's quite a lot of shamans, for the reasons you stated: decent soloers and good in groups. Soloing on this server tends to be better exp than grouping, so like half the server consists of druids, magicians and necromancers. Shaman seems to be the fourth most common class after those three, and is probably the most common in mid-level groups. I think something caused a lot of people to make shaman alts recently.

Thanks for the quick reply! Since the population is large, can any necros tell me about FD? Can you FD with your pet engaging a mob, let it die to the mob, and after it dies the mob will NOT turn on you? Assuming you have no dot on it.

Maybe a rogue or monk would be fun and group desirable if a large section of the server is soloing casters?

yes you can FD with your pet killing and won't catch aggro

Awesome! That is good to hear. Hmm server full of Druids, necro, Mage, and shaman. Sounds like melée dps classes are on the minority?

Maybe I should try a rogue. Always wondered about those sneaky bastards! My playtime per day though is limited to 1.5-2 hrs mostly. Wonder if that compatible with melée dps lfg

Delay trick doesn't work on Necromancer pets. Their pets generally aren't as good as they were on classic live.

The monk mitigation thing is sort of relative, as the code that EQEmu runs on differs from EQLive. Monks on this server don't tank exactly like classic monks or post-Velious monks, they tank how they were coded especially for emu. If anything though I'd say they're closer to post-Velious than classic.

Thanks for the monk view! That certainly gives me some reason for pause for picking up the monk again as I did like the potential solo potential they had at times that really went awAy entirely after the mitigation nerf.

Well, necro pets aren't as good as they were on live. Mage pets here: Water(49) and earth(49) seem to have excessive HP, and DS damage on fire pets seem excessive...though I don't have a base to compare them to ~_~
