I have 3 brands to choose from..
Acer, Toshiba, and HP..
I'm prolly going to go with an I3 with 320-500G hard drive, 4Gram and Win7 Premium.
The computer is for work, word processing and all that.
Anyone care to weigh in on these 3 brands and share good / bad experiences?

Such a bad lineup...
I'd go Acer. It's the least rotten apple in the bunch.
Your HP will die in a year, and your Toshiba will have intermittent problems that will never get properly fixed ever.

From those brands, the only thing really reliable would be:
HP EliteBook
Toshiba Tecra
But something tells me that's out of your price range. Next best, on the consumer end of things (crapshoot, 2 years average reliability):
HP dv series
Toshiba Satellite
The community at NotebookReview (http://www.notebookreview.com/) can probably address your needs better than the posters of this forum.

I was thinking of a Satellite - I just need something to plug into the overhead to display lesson plans, watch movies on the ferry rides, and keep notes in Onenote - don't need to much power.. Battery Life might be important so I'm hoping to get about 3.5 hours or so on a 6 cell.
Thanks for hte feedback.
