View Full Version : Help with rolling a bard
I remember a bard on Rallos that i had a hard time with, with my wizard because he kept interrupting my spells. Id be interested in rolling that kind of bard. Im not sure if i would have to put starting stats in a specific way for this build, im not even sure how i should roll one, any help would be nice.
My aim with this toon is just to have fun in pvp and mess with a class in pve that isnt really everywhere till i can roll my necro when Kunark arrives.
What would my starting stats look like?

How much pot should I put in my blunt?

Generally you can roll a bard if you get him really drunk first. Thats not hard, every time you put a drink in front of them they will down it. After they are unable to stand, get a hot girl to talk to him, just have her ask him to meet her in the alley.
They usually pass out all by them selves and then you can roll them and take their wallet pretty easily.
Same thing works on Sailors and Coasties.
Seriously, anyone can give a little guidance?
Just talked to someone who said that CHA/DEX are the main bard stats, and that the interrupt spell i want to use doesnt arrive until Kunark or Velious.
Id really like a little feedback from someone who knows bard so i dont gimp myself when i start the toon.
thanks

Dump it all in to Stamina.
I'm playing a half elf bard myself and charisma has very little if any effect on my songs. With average gear my dex unbuffed is in the 130s which is plenty for procs when I'm tanking. If you are not getting beat on you won't miss notes very often, if you are getting beat on then dex really doesn't do that much for you. Dex provides diminishing returns so there is no sense in investing in that as your gear will keep getting better, but you are stuck with your starting stats for life.
Chances are you will never max out stamina on this server... unless you are hard core raiding during Velious... then maybe.

All in STA for a pvp bard.

Quite honestly, I kind of want to dump it into STR for my Bard.
Bronze is freaking heavy. I know Lambent won't be, but simply being able to carry more junk seems worth the points.
All in STA for a pvp bard.
Any second opinions?
STA? or would that gimp me in the effect im trying to reproduce? (The bard song that interrupts casting)

It has nothing to do with it either way.
The song you are referring to is Brusco's Boastful Bellow (or at least I assume it is).
A great bellow that causes between x and y damage to your opponent and potentially interrupts their casting.
Your stats will not effect how often the song will interrupt their casting. The mob gets to roll their channelling to see if they manage to cast the spell anyway.

I believe there are drugs that can help you with your urge to roll a bard.

I think you're going to regret any points not in charisma.

If you were getting interrupted in pvp, you were probably getting spammed by pixie strike - i think that's the single target mez that lowers MR.
I guess that is influenced by CHA? Not that it matters on this server since it's pve...

I think CHA effects how well you can mez and keep a pet

STR/CHA. Before good gear (such as lambent), you'll be constantly at or near being encumbered with bronze armor. It's a pain in the ass.
