Hi, just wonder if my untwinked/ very poor chanter can solo yellows ~ even, at lvl 14?
I did try but got kicked my ass every time. Is there any special tricks/methods to do that?

I also need some advice on how to gear my chanter... I've done stein of moggok quest, which was great, but now i feel stuck. I'm no good in making plats. The best I can do in a level, seems to be what? 20p? Just enough to buy new spells... Anyone know where I can make decent money at this lvl?

Any suggestions appreciated, thanks for your time.

it's hard starting out for sure.

Easiest way to gain money is to keep doing the stein of moggok quest and selling it for 300pp a pop. Other than that you are looking to amass bone chips and high quality pelts.

Make a decision now: if you wanna get rich, head toward Unrest/Karanas.. If you wanna level and find groups easy but be poor, hit up Oasis.

The bonus to unrest is your ability to score a savants cap, dusty bloodstained gloves, 20 mana wrists, and opalline earrings, which is a nice starter set for an untwinked enc.

This explains the 27 people soloing in Oasis earlier.
My poor rogue hasnt had a group in 3 days because nobody wants to group anymore.
So much for classic...

I usually find groups easy. Best way is to create your own... Always worked for me.

if only you had 3 toons ready to solo/duo/group that were actually desirable and not 6man group dependent..

oh wait, you do. :)

Erud's crossing. Kill wisp for exp. If they drop a GLS (which they will), turn them into the gypsy in NK and receive a book. Sell the book (at the gypsy camp) for about 10pp per. Lightstones also sell for about 1 pp per and are pretty common. And give me any Meletite you receive from Mistmoore when you're of appropriate level.

I don't know how anyone hasn't mentioned this yet. To make money as a lowbie enc you need to do one thing and one thing only: jewelcraft. Sell silver jewelry for 5pp or 10pp depending on the quality of the gem, sell electrum jewelry for more - fast money. I easily got 100pp to fund my smithing by doing jewelcrafting, which cost negligible plat to get started (though I used some training points on it which some people will say you should save for research), and then I sold banded and made more money still. You can start making silver jewelry at level 8.

My advice is to not waste your time trying to make money at low level. Just focus on getting levels and the money will come. That is true in most MMOs.

I group with all my characters, even the necro. If i wanted to solo all the time id play EQ2.

Gah! Good idea... thx

Will look for that in first place... I never thought of that to be honest. Surely add some spice to the gameplay too.

How much plat I need to get started?

Be rich (enough)

If you put in 21 training points, none, really, though expect many of your combines to fail early on (the 5pp/item tends to outweigh this, though). If you don't want to put in the training points and you're smart about how you level it up, you'd need maybe 20ish plat to get it to 21 skill (rough estimate, and again, you might be able to make it up altogether by being smart about what you make and how much you sell it for). Look up some guides on jewelcrafting (I found EQtraders and the P99 wiki to be the most useful), do your research, and make some money. You're an enchanter - for God's sake, do some enchanting! :p

what i meant was you have 3 other toons that can solo, group full, duo, or join some random 3-4 man ensemble.

So it's pretty silly to worry that the one toon that isnt versitale and needs lightning to strike to gain xp... is umm... struggling.
