I spent a lot of time in Blackburrow leveling alts over the years. Since the last patch nerfed the experience of the gnoll fangs, I thought it'd be interesting to determine just how much it was nerfed.
Before nerf: 20k exp per fang
After nerf: 8k exp per fang
It's still not bad but was nerfed 60% so it is pretty much a ghost town now.
In case you were curious how many fangs you would get if you PB AOE'd the entire zone at once, it averages 30 fangs.
Blackburrow has a 24 minute respawn rate I believe. Rounding up all the gnolls (make sure the zone is empty) could take 6 minutes so you're looking at two full pulls an hour.
60 fangs x 8000 exp = 480,000 experience an hour. (This would take you from level 1 to almost level 9 as a Dwarf Cleric for example)
If you were broke and needed to PL your own toon, this would be an okay way to do it if you do it late when no one else is in the zone but not a super efficient method. Especially when you consider you have to run to Qeynos and turn them all in which burns a lot of time. You'll also be a fizzle/whiff king/queen.
You can use this neat tool to determine how much experience you need per level based on your race/class.
