Ignore list works fine, no need to make any extra work for forum mods. Nothing is lost by ignoring all of their posts. I noticed a while back that the redites still beating that drum here are just repeating themselves without any new info or evolved opinion on other topics as well.

Also, poll lacks comedy option. That's an irreparable defect imo, not worth a vote.

I was advised by the staff that the red community should do everything it can to improve and promote the server. We will do nothing less than that. This includes warning you that a single group will have corpses of plane of mischief cards because the high cards for quests can be held down by a single group & you can't pvp to stop them, ice clad / north ro will chain crash all night trying to go to Velious, and that there will be lines that last *LITERALLY* for days to get access to Cobalt Scar.

I'm trying to help you if you apply some objective reasoning and put the red vs blue debate aside. Imagine if we had a second blue server with 200 pop? I doubt many of you would leave your easily replaced Kunark pixels aside (seriously, you will replace almost everything you have now with Velious gear what's the gotdayum point). Red is the least toxic it has been in years since xp loss on death was removed from PvP and Derubael enforcing the play nice policy. PvP is fun, you guys love the best of the best fights. Come on over, the camps are open and we will recruit you / get you your epic.

There are a lot of us on the red99 server that hate the troll recruitment posts. I made this thread earlier today, before you made this thread, in regards to this issue: http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171259

In short, there should be a harsh ban on anyone spamming pro-red troll posts. If two posts happen in a day = 1 week suspension on forum and game. Second offense = 1 month. 3 strike = permanent ban. If two people from the same guild post the same troll spam = suspension for the entire guild for 1 day. Two infractions = guild disbanded.

Not only does the troll spam look bad on a forum dedicated to serious discussion, but it deters players from joining the red server because they think a majority of the player-base is like this. We need harsh penalties to reign some people and guilds in.

However there are some situations that could be better arbitrated by PVP/red99, and I feel like talking openly about the advantages red99 has over blue99 should not be discouraged. This is simply to dissuade spam

If you've never tried Red, or tried it long ago and didn't like it, now is the time to give it a shot. We've implemented a number of systems to make the transition to a PvP server much more noob friendly and not as punishingly difficult as it was years ago. Keep in mind that you can have one client open on red and one client open on blue camping item0001 and that is perfectly legitimate.

There is no XP loss on PvP death. Your coin can be looted but your items can't (store platinum in expensive gems). The PvP level range is now +/-4, and we've put the level restriction for PvP back into Soldungb and Permafrost (previously, any level could attack any level - now its +/- 4 again). There is an enormous experience bonus that greatly promotes grouping over soloing, making it easier to find a group and less likely to get destroyed by that fungi twink in your level range.

If you're out of range of PvP, all of the regular blue server PnP rules apply. Any situation that cannot be resolved through PvP uses the blue server rules. However, any situation that DOES have a PvP option (read: anytime there are players in range of killing each other) must be resolved through PvP. In the past, level 60's could come up and steal your camp/kill any time they wanted. This can't happen anymore, as you are protected under the PnP unless you're in range with that player. This also means there's a lot more protection on Red than their used to be for a wide range of situations. We've made things easier for the new player while still leaving the old guard plenty of room to play.

When you do die (you eventually will - its a PvP server) you have the option to Loot and Scoot, meaning you can get your corpse and leave the zone after being killed in PvP. No more forced corpse camping. No more bind camping. "Griefing" is next to impossible now (with a few exceptions which take an extreme effort by the griefer and are generally reserved for only the most heinous and hated enemies. The playerbase is extremely helpful, and there are many players willing to "show you the ropes" for your class or just EQ PVP in general, as well as hand out free items or platinum (gems) to get you started. Even the fungi twinks hunting low level players tend to run around with a bag full of lowbie items, handing items out to the players they kill. It's an entirely new atmosphere on Red.

If these recruitment posts are driving you insane, go log into Red and see why everyone can't stop posting about it. We've had some "big name" Blue converts over the past 6 months, and anyone who comes over with a good attitude and the right expectations ends up having an absolute blast. It's rare to find a blue transition that DOESN'T stick around these days, and that's got us really excited for the future! We're adding more Guides to Red very soon as well, so we'll be sure that the rules get enforced the way they are supposed to and people aren't being cheated or shenanigan'd.

There's never been a better time to go Red.

I detest PVP as much as the next PVE lover, if not more. Since most of these types of games post WoW include a heavy PVP element (monkey see, monkey do), I see more than enough support for PVP in RL but it seems like PVE is under-represented at this point in the pendulum swing. That is why, in addition to the fact that regular Classic EQ freakin rocks and PVP makes it worse IMO, I personally am not in favor of promoting RED.

That withstanding, the people that make P99 possible wish to promote it and it's their sandbox. So IMO, the OP and those that agree with him should just stand down and enjoy what you have. There appears to be enough support for both servers to do well in any event.
