View Full Version : Game Mechanics: AC Not working !!!

Armor Class isn't working at all 200 AC player's get hit just as hard as 1000 AC players.

Hit/Miss is rolling solely of Weapon Skill, which means a melee has the same hit/miss chance vs a cloth as plate.

Hit boxes are 50% too big which means you can backstab people from the front.

I don't care how many threads are made about this, I'll make a new one each day until it's fixed. Because everytime I log into a server called classic Red99 pvp and everyday I lose 90% of my life under 3 seconds to melee with a 900 Ac shaman. And then I log in the next time figuring omfg this is so bad somebody had to fix it, and everyday it's the same, name of server hasn't changed to Wacky Dan's Melee Custom Server, but yet this shit is still happening.

They put in a hidden patch to fix root duration, if they are gonna sneak in fixes then AC should been the one they threw in.

if they hotfixed something, that's because alecta put in the ability to change parameters for certain spell resist related things without patching the server

they can't just hotfix AC; that would require a full server reset to apply a patch

Sorry BK, can't always have it your way.

I suggest getting on Beta, and testing AC response in pvp. If you think adjustments are still in order, post your results asap. Otherwise you get it as is.

Expect some mandatory beta testing soon. I suggest to spend your time looking as some of the AC changes for pvp.

It's tri-fecta of Bullshit atm.

Melee pushback set 75% higher then normal
No AC mitigation
Hitboxes 50% larger than normal

so currently casters disintegrate in seconds vs melee, max plate and chain AC healers too. I suggest someone from the staff try it because I don't think you guys understand how bad it is atm. Everquest was one of best class vs class balanced games I ever played. This is the worst class vs class balance I have ever seen in any MMO and I've played them all.

literally 0 point in posting this over and over when they've already said that AC will be fixed and hitboxes will be smaller in the patch that will come after the velious testing thing(which ends two days from now)

The patch to update beta, was supposed to go out to red too. You should be able to check combat range real easy client vs client.

Oh. Ok. I heard it debated on what was going to be done both ways. Check combat range, to confirm if you want.

it's a big improvement imo

i found it very difficult to melee someone moving; i pretty much had to be directly on top of them to melee them

is this melee range nerf to special attacks as well, like kick, bash, flying kick, backstab, etc? didn't get a chance to test that before i had to get off

another thing i noticed that you still had to be in range of them on the Z-axis to melee them, which is not classic

in classic, you could melee someone 10000 feet above/below you in the air, so long as you were in range on the X and Y axes

We're getting some nice gifts. Hopefully in a future patch we can take z-axis calc out entirely for spell/melee distance checks.

I reckon this would apply to both pve and pvp.

It was the entire combat range, whick was adjusted. So it should apply to all.

The damage mitigation is my primary concern to be honest, currently rogues are one shotting casters at lvl 60. Hit box is nice and all but wont really change much if dmg is still set to insanity. And if it is only alil tuned down, and resists are put into effect we gonna have another year of meleequest.

Well I guess we're screwed then because I can't test pvp on a server where pvp isn't enabled. Sat there asking for a duel for over an hour no one accepted. Fuck it I'll just reroll a melee.

I'd say mitigation AC is working well enough.

Yea right get a bunch blues to jump onto arena GL with that, I don't know if Ac is working as intended, you're math is usually solid but you're often way off on things being classic tuned. Don't think you pvp'd enough on live during this era to gauge it right.

Haynar seems to be able to pretty quickly adjust things.

We have screenshots of double 800ish backstabs on full skyshrine plate SKs out there in the pvp shots on 50megs for FU.

I will say that's allot better than before but he mowed through all your life in under 30 seconds lol might need a little fine tuning there. I would expect that lvl of dmg output from a hasted rogue.

Nice catch man i missed the Bard chants they should have same resist checks as nukes.
