Nilbog asked somewhere if red players would have more incentive to beta test the velious beta if there was an NPC in game that flagged you for pvp, if that were the case, I think it would be a good idea to also force red players to beta test, pvp'ing with the new content and more specifically the new code.

The new pvp code has been the work of a small handful of players and one developer, - Haynar's interactions with Colgate, Nirgon, and a few others. The whole RED server is about to experience changes based on the word of these people, and not that I'm saying it's a bad thing, as they do honestly seem to be thriving for a more classic experience. However, I would love to see more people sharing their experiences and opinions on how things were and should be, before the changes take place.

Who knows, it might also give some blue players incentive to play here after watching an entire group get run down in some deep dungeon over a big old throw down, more so then them rolling a level 1, then chain dying in FoB at level 2 being told they have to LnS and XP in the swamp of no hope.

Red code/resists/shit needs beta tested. It'd be best if they did shut down red and forced people to do it.

Ye I owned a Red rogue in beta. Didn't land a single bs. Mite be too big of a nerf. Seriously, bad jousters like Andis about to have a heartattack

good. i can't remember ever being afraid of a rogue on live while moving around, here they backstab you for double 400 in your face as you're jousting them, like wtf?

Sad and true. Even if I purposefully keep my back away from them during the joust I still catch backstabs from super far away. This is exciting news thanks for the updates from guys who have been testing.

I have to admit I did not realize you could test this out on the velious beta or I would have done so already.

To be honest if you made all of it red and red players could join beards with each other to fight the blue server players.. it could bring the community together a little more and be a lot of fun. Even if it makes the elite blues and reds more at odds in forumquest... worth it!

It was hard to joust on live, skillcap for melee's was set pretty high. There wasn't allot of rogues ranked very high on sullon. Maybe 2-3. They been on easy mode here.

That is how I remember it as well. I remember it being fairly easy to avoid backstabs by backing into a corner.

After 12 years on eqlive & 6 months on red, I have discovered PVP or nothing.

Just adds so much to the game.

Spent 2-3 hours dueling people this morning across monk, sk, wizard, necro. Did my own rogue/monk, did a beta buff wiz/sk/necro. Hitbox change was good, but WAY too small in my opinion. One thing I did notice that was weird, I went AoN form double shrink and I was somehow getting a larger hitbox on the 2 people I fought(both human monks) then non shrunk. Anyway I do think the hitbox needs to be tweaked a little, extended just a tad bit. You can currently stand right next to some players, or ontop of them and not be in range as if you get TOO close the hitbox is now past you.

Out of majority of the duels, SK came out on top in all my fights against rogues, monks and rangers(some red, the blue people I dueled were just plain stupid so you could tell who was red and blue for most part) and this was purely because of the fact I was able to either shadow step vamp curse/asystole while jousting with a fungi on to keep my hp flowing with curse + occasional epic proc. If I landed a bash, great I got a chance to get a free round of auto attack in. But for the most part, Jousting sow vs sow or sow vs jboots still has a tough time landing because smaller hitbox lag plays a even bigger effect on it, the player might be off a few inches to the side but shown in range on your screen and you can't hit. Really hope more testing is done with the hit box.

Thats all fine and dandy and more like classic. But Classic's netcode was significantly better than P99. Did you test to make sure it was reasonable while running?

Nah bitch welcome to live classic pvp, hit boxes were small as shit and not everyone who rolled a melee could joust. You had to be practically inside someone to hit them on live. Current Hitboxes even gracious compared to live, and those were dial up days.

Yea Rogues didnt do good vs sk on live, warrior's and sk's dominated rogues, only reason rogues here were able to kill them was because you hit tank classes like they had no ac. WTF should a rogue do great vs a high AC high HP class, it's like there counter classes.

You want unclassic easy mode, sorry those days are over, hope ya enjoyed um.

That's why good rogues on live were fewer. Could backstab running by but it was pretty difficult, and backstab missed 1/2 the time anyway.

It's true only truly great rogues could backstab running. Inorcist was one of them. I'd Be hard pressed to name others.
