View Full Version : Ghoul Frenzy No Loot

One time in in EQ Live, I was the group leader, and I corpse locked the Frenzied Ghoul upon death but it had nothing. While I thought it was odd other people started calling me a ninja.
I've killed him 100s of times but he always had loot 100% of the time except that one time. This was before loot messages were added.
I always hypothesized later that a rogue pickpocketed the loot, but I heard this was impossible.
So what was the real deal? ~ No I didn't take it :P

What happened was that you had a completely vacant backpack, all 8 slots empty. You looted FG and didn't see the FBSS it dropped because it blends so easily into the default window color. You did actually loot it, but this was prior to the "loot message" being implemented so you did not even realize it. Later that day, you decided to pick up a bag of the tinkerers in SolA and saw when you got down there that you needed to get rid of a bag slot. So instead of selling that "vacant" bag (now loaded with an FBSS) to the tink bag merchant, who then would have credited you the bag value and the FBSS merchant value, you destroyed the bag (no big deal only worth 5 gold) and thereby the FBSS.
You never even knew you had it.

Wow Azeth that's a pretty complicated theory but right after I looted it I checked all my bags repeatedly. Also I could not afford any tinkerer's bag cause I was saving up my cash for an FBSS that never dropped.
Once I rolleda 96 to a 98 back in the day but he said it was better than his "Runed Bolster Belt". In the end I rolled 2nd for an FBSS 8*times (It was my father's char) and my father rolled 2nd about 8 times as well. I kept thinking "2nd again? wtf?!" but that's probably more like I got screwed randomly than a mystery.

The abrasion on the palm of your left hand is the type one sustains breaking a fall of 3 to 5 feet, the small reminisce of plaster on the tip of your shoe pointed to a careless mason beam, the culprit, your new watch, a quality forgery of a cartieah was most likely purchased through the north African black market known to reside in Gotan.
That's what you slipped in! That's what was on your shoe! And that explains the abrasion on your palm!!

...the urine stain on your pants would signify that you're a single shake man, far too busy for a follow up jiggle.

It's hit or miss. Sometimes they're completely hilarious and awesome and other times petty, whiny, and stupid.
I always learn something (if even something minor) while perusing them, so I keep going.
