Ice Comet Animation

I seem to remember that back in the day Ice Comet looked like a big ice ball falling on a target and shattering, whereas now it's your basic frost shock animation. Am I remembering it wrong or is there something else going on?

Those spell animations were much later. Classic is frost shock particles.
