my friend used my files to play p1999 on his computer. i run a 24 inch screen while he runs a 19 inch i gave my p1999 files to him, and when he plays the game, he can barely read the text.

1600 x 900 is the max settings he can achieve.

what settings is best so he can read the text perfectly?

im sorry, i put this thread in the wrong place.

my friend put the game on full screen, and not he can't even reach the login screen.

after he presses "accept" the game turns black and he has to restart it again.

are there any ways to make the game go back into "windows mode" without clicking on thegame?>

you can edit the eqclient.ini file. I believe the setting is:

WindowedMode=TRUE

I believe you can also set your custom window size with the below section:

[VideoMode]
WindowedWidth=1680
WindowedHeight=1050
Width=1280
Height=1024
WidthWindowed=1280
HeightWindowed=1024
FullscreenBitsPerPixel=32
FullscreenRefreshRate=0

As far as not being able to read the text, try the /chatfontsize command

/chatfontsize 1-5 to make text bigger.

Open eqclient.ini in your Everquest folder and set WindowedMode=TRUE

Can also try changing the font type - found on the Display tab on the Options window (Alt+o).

Depending on the monitor sometimes text can seem blurry i would try different fonts or changing the colors of the font.

Or you can mess with the monitor settings and try to make sure the color is properly calibrated.

This is assuming the issue is the text being blurry and not a text size issue

I had this issue yesterday, problem was I had set my Icons to Largest.

Right click Desktop>Screen Resolution>make texts and icons set to smallest
