Hey just learned about this server from the mmorpg site and had a quick question. I use to play EQ just about 2 years ago, so was way past the "classic" version of the game. I have been wanting to give the classic game a try for some time since I missed out on it back in the day, saying this.. Will a "New" player fit in on this server, or if I am asking mundane questions will people just ignore/mock me in some way? I played on a private server a long time ago(about 4 years ago or so), and remember being insulted for not playing when the game went live and people pretty well just ignored me. This may sound stupid, but oh well. I am just wanting to relive what I might have missed out on, even if I have really only played EQ a short amount of time.

Anyways, thanks for any input and hopefully this can be my new home for a while!

you will be welcomed by some of the people on this server, some of them just don't accept anybody other than themselves, but it's that way anywhere. i can tell you that you are in for a long grind as compared to what you are used to and not as easy a time getting good equipment unless you happen to find one of the rare high level people that hand out items/plat to low level people. getting around the world will be harder for you too without PoP or even luclin to bring you to exactly where you want. other than that, as long as you ask nicely about help people will atleast point you in the right direction, and welcome to the server

If you played EQ at all, you should be able to figure things out pretty quick. Read the forums here and keep in mind that there is only a fraction of the content in the old world. Even still, there is more than enough to keep you busy.

Alright sounds great, I did play for a while as I said with a friend a while back so I have an idea of the gameplay. But sounds like it was probably a lot easier when I played than classic even. Honestly I hate the way most MMO's have become now-a-days with the easy aspect and "instant travel" anywhere in the world. Will have fun and feel more rewarding in a harder game especially since gear isn't given to you on a platter.

Anyways thanks for the information, and look forward to meeting you in-game :).

So far this is the friendliest group of gamers I've played with since...well Classic EQ on live.

Ditto. This is hands-down the best gaming experience I've had since I stopped playing Live back in '06. If you like playing for the people and the setting, this server won't disappoint.
