Not sure if your looking for package setups of whats allowed or just a screenie of a setup that user friendly thats been re-packed and downloadable.

Maybe some will reply to this and fill me in, because most UI's have been lost or modified for live server and beyond saving but will be glad to help out.

I can re-pack my current setup so its easily extracted about all i can think of. :)
The yellow captions are from the actual screen capture software i used, not in the ui itself:p

Using the QQUI managed to get everything friendly for my SK

Nice UI. You should def re-pack it!

Nice UI. You should def re-pack it!

Np, I can do that . I will want to make a few slight changes to it, the spell-bar/gem slots, i'm going to try a make a layover for that. Target window can go where i placed it or directly top center or fits perfectly right above action window that puts right next to the spell-bar.

Its hard to see there and this has been my biggest problem while using this UI... everything has been dow sized and hard to see if not in grouped together in tight groups.

Deffintly something has to be done with the huge hotbar bar/invo box in the corner, its about the only place it can go at the moment, since this is based on another acceptable UI i should be able to come up with something.

This has been my standered lay-out format for almost 12 years, its where i always place the windows, through all 50 million live ui changes and counting :D

OK. been 36hrs now and i have finally come up with what im doing with my earlier post, since i didn't like the full-see through look, so not me or traditional, i come up with something that's only compatible with the original Trilogy set -sold with Luclin.

What im working on doing with the QQUI/ not sure its origin is change it into this, this picture does not have a working actions custom for it, the Actions-panel will still be defualt until i work that out.... sigh.

http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa10/jackbox1234/OldRaidUI.png (http://s197.photobucket.com/user/jackbox1234/media/OldRaidUI.png.html)

The Word tags and Yellow outlined boxs are from my screen capture software , and not apart of the UI that's Clear see through. Clearly im ripping lots of other ui's off, but oh well :D i need something that works, not broken and tolerable to play Hybrids/Cleric

This UI is purely based on the forum Down Load for The Scars of Velious (December 2000). This UI is not meant for any expansion greater than The Scars of Velious (December 2000)

Finally fished and is probably the only UI im doing. Fully 100% P-99 compatible with no error messages AND YES player names are permanently hidden.

It was hell getting everything together and to work, Old.Default-fully filled-SK-BeatDown-UI

It took a lot of trimming and redoing but here it is, a more standard old EQ look remove the pet there is room to stack the hot-bars as well. I didn't permanently lock the UI so movement of windows and all functions can still be down. I even unlocked the Character Windows :P

Everyone can thank SOE for making me scrap my 12 year version gone and lost and spread over the cosmos, from what i could gather this is probably as good as its going to get for now.

http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa10/jackbox1234/EQ000000.png (http://s197.photobucket.com/user/jackbox1234/media/EQ000000.png.html)

Problems with finding a Spell-Gem-Window, sorry your going to be stuck with what has already been posted on the forums. Because UI customization didn't occure until AFTER Luclin, and im still trying to wrap my head around why some things are allowed, but anyways, post here i guess and let me know what cha thinks :)

One thing i can note is a easy to look at Pet Window, buttons have been highlighted, dont ask how i managed that :P

Wrong image was posted earlier, i have now posted the fully corrected UI just now, cheers.

As you can see the work ive done, and whats still original pieces from the QQUI_Format. Actions Window and Spell Gem Window. Couldnt get them to work. For now this is what im calling Playable finished :P

Hi Spyder,

Unfortunately alot of the older UI's just over the first 6 years of the game had been changed and modified to work with later expansions so a lot of the UI's that are going to work for P99 on located on the forums or a work-in-progress

eqinterface.com (http://www.eqinterface.com/index.php?)

Is about all thats left but has a strong community and tons of information on how to get started on rewinding the clock. Most if not all the UI's found on that site is RoF2 UI's or other games.

Titanium patches/fixes can be found on the wiki http://wiki.project1999.com/Players:Technical

http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7850 this will send you to the colored defualt velious ui's

Everyone looking how to get started should start at the beginning, and the first avaliable date for eqinterface is oct2003. https://web.archive.org/web/20040207152410/http://www.eqinterface.com/sdownload/index.php?s=

This is where i started.

All the original code that was being used at that time can be found here CODE (https://web.archive.org/web/20040211050127/http://www.eqinterface.com/index.php?s=)

This be what i been looking for, to hell with opening rewritting code and trying to load/unload loadfail.... Code is whats needed, Code is what is found . From there you will be exactly where im at with it :D

love the research you did, but I couldn't get any of those older links to download.

NP, the links downloadable files from 2001 are linked to the old servers i mostly did the research so you could click the different Interface parts and scrolling down you will see the Old-Code that was being patched into Luclin update, this should be a good reference to WHAT to REMOVE from different pieces, so you would start removing starting at the entries to each pieces code down, and that will clear the slate so modern pieces will work..

Its a hit and miss and i wouldn't guarantee that the interface-piece being worked on will work, but i been able to clean up a lot of pieces, older and newer pieces just by erasing the added-patch coding that was making them compatible for the new expansions.

This is what a lot of people sitting around PoP sat and talked about and you can compare code and see the difference also or vise versa copy over exsiting code into a piece by adding it in place of what might be wrong. Used to do it all the time, saves time and work until... you realize the entire script needs to match and find yourself writting in the corrected numbers all the way down running into wrong modifications.

It takes time but eventually you get the piece you want to work and if you want it bad enough youll put in the time.

And that just one piece. They changed sizes and matching on a lot, here you can see the changes on my code link and now see what was being changed and go directly to that part. Probably if changes arnt listed in my code link, then its probably needs to be removed from the piece altogether, modding didnt happen until midway through/Post Luclin, thats when things got crazy.

NOTE* Iv'e taken college since then :P kicking and screaming i might add and understand a lot more then i used. I'm advanced C,Visual Basic C+,C++, and some C# but you won't find any C#in this. Removing upto the Title of the Parts Code

example= <Ui2DAnimation item = "A_ActionsBtnNormal"> erase, obviously we always had a combat abilities, but whats been added under it would need to be looked at and erased up-to the point that's P99 compatible

in the example what was added was

its used to look like this only

<Ui2DAnimation item = "A_ActionsBtnNormal">
insert code here, it has code here.
<Ui2DAnimation item = "A_CombatSkillBtnNormal">

This is what messed up a lot of peoples animations they thought they were getting away with, because those flash UI animations that worked was really using parts of pieces that had no code written in by Sony yet.

This is just example. and this would be a poor choice for animation although it is a button thats pressed im sure there were some out there.

est to look at the version of the default.old pieces, compare to what your looking at and you can go from there, but its not going to work if the piece your wanting was modified to work for the expansion it was updated to work with. So its a matter of figuring out what got changed and if any scripts the piece is trying run was modified as well.

So your going to need all 3 resources.

default.old
the Velious code updates link i provided
The updated piece your working on.

Take time.

This is what was created by the community of P99

http://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7850

If your looking for something different you will have to create/mod UI interfaces yourself. Sorry but that is all thats been created or/ found on the forums as far as what your looking for.

Savok did a lot of work on this i believe. Savok will be the one your going to want to get into contact with.

A lot of people just use Duxal and the Duxal installer, but its ALL based on Velious, and Velious UI's is as far as this server will ever progress.

hope this helps.

theres funny rules in the EQ ui. some windows will only be resizable in one aspect ( like the option bar only resizes vertically) and so on. I think Its different from window to window.

if you want to try and edit the code i think you can add this line to test the functionality of a window with resizing

<Style_Sizable>true</Style_Sizable>

Paleman
01-15-2015, 02:59 PM
so looking more in depth there is a problem with resizing the target window which makes alot of people not add the functionality to the UI. using the line i posted will make the window resizable but not movable. so yeah :P

but I am almost positive I remember a target window that was resizable and minimizable back during PoP.

Chronoburn

<Style_Sizable>true</Style_Sizable>

Yeah, I actually tried that last night. When testing, I did notice that you could no longer move the target window by drag and drop but you could move it by re-sizing it across the screen.

The main issue still is that the health indicator inside the target window was static. I'm assuming making this component dynamic is not trivial. Maybe it is only static cause I'm using the Vert Target Window? I'll have to try the default/Velious when I get home.

this is determined by the window type, but while you'll be able to resize the target window the health bars ect. wont resize (unless you build one with custom textures that somehow scaled with the window)

Not in Classic, but it can be done, and is what traditional custom UI's was about.

I found this link for you, its not a tool. I won't provide any tools which there are some in the official development kits, you will have to find those on your own.

http://www.eqinterface.com/forums/faq.php?faq=interface_basics

2 things i want to point about the link.

What are TGA files and how do I edit them?

A .tga file is commonly used graphic file format. So all the .tga files you see in the interface folder are the graphics for the interface.

A graphics editing program is needed to view and edit these files. Adobe Photoshop, JASC Paint Shop Pro and GIMP are a few of many graphic editing programs you can use. Just do a search in google to find more information on where to get obtain programs.

The Everquest Interface can use other graphic file formats too. More information on that can be found by searching our forums. I suggest if your just starting you stick with .tga's.

In the Graphics Tutorials & Info forum you can find some great information on how to make your own graphics.

The developers of the Everquest Interface have released some basic information in a file called AboutSIDL.doc. This file can be found in your default interface folder. C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest\UIFiles\default\AboutSIDL.doc . (location may be different on your computer)

Resizing windows in classic won't resize the other parts of the window, those are all separate pieces and is why SOE came out with a better UI later in history, IF not for the purposes of higher resolution's sake of monitors

Verant's version played on 640x480 and is why after the buy-out everything became separate pieces. wish people would learn that, but anyways. Hope this help explain what your your looking at.

Dont worry about your monitor, if you can run Meridian59 which you can still jump onto the 1 server it has, and is about to release to STEAM you wont run into any problems from any future updates here on a emu server. Verant code has already been found to never work with sony xml code. This was proven way back in the day.

They are going to eventually. If people complain it won't matter its a public Emu server that's owned privately and services cant be charged or none of this is legal.

If anyone makes one red-cent off any of this someones headed to court with a do-not-pass-go head start. I'm not worried, people will only find out what sony did and why things got broken and like that stops anyone from creating or/ digging up old 3rd party work around. Messing with the whole UI enforcement isn't going to worth it, lol trust me i know.

I knew people that lived to mess with Sony when all that was happening, start talking open-web emu servers, shit forget about it :D

I dont understand how that forces them to set back the UI or do anything to it.

also theres not many ways at this moment for SOE to find out how much money is going towards this emu project. So its safe to say that they may have already made some money on it. And if so, good! They deserve a few cheeseburgers imo.

tbh i dont see how what you say in this post relates to forcing a change on the UI. The only post I can find where it even kind of alludes to them changing things on the UI is this post.

1 chatbox? Maybe for non-staff. Heh.
Debated throttling ppl to 56k equivalent. Nah.
Item linking? No. CS total nightmare with trade scammers.
Cap FPS? Thought about it, nah.
800x600? Hah. In a viewport too. We are getting older. I dont know abt ur eyesight, but i am getting close to 50. Hell no.

if you know anywhere else that they state some changes they will be making to the UI let me know I would love to read up on them.
