Classic zones you've never been in?

From this list I'm pretty sure I've never been in Arena, Jaggedpine Forest, Qeynos Catacombs, Akanon. I've also only been in Grobb for about two seconds which doesn't really count since I've never actually been able to appreciate the zone. I'm betting most people here have been to every classic zone, but are there any other n00bs out here who've never been to certain zones?

Having had altitis, I made characters of every race at one point or another, so I've been to all the newbie zones and most of the zones nearby. On the other hand, I haven't seen a lot of the higher level zones. Here's what I either have never seen or have very briefly seen: Arena, Befallen, Upper/Lower Guk, Solusek A/B/Temple, Splitpaw Lair, Kerra Isle, The Hole, Mistmoore, Kedge Keep, Unrest, any planes.

Also, I've definitely added a bunch of zones to my roster just in P99 playing my shaman, who's now level 26. I've never had a character this high level ;)

Felwithe, Kedgekeep, none of the planes, paineel, crushbone.

Gorge of King Xorbb I will have fond memories - my first monk ran through it (the Qeynos to Freeport pilgrimage!) ran high on slope, got lost, fell, got attacked by one of those mobs (md something?) who blind you a lot, died, spent hours on CR heh.

I thought my monitor had died on me(as I could hear sounds), the first time I got blinked and pushed the restart button on the comp praying it would "fx" my monitor :-p

I've never been to CShome.

The classic tutorial zone for the win. The one that shipped with the original EQ, you didn't have to be online to play it.

I was in the Cat room though, once loaded up the game in 99 and ended up in the Cat room. I still don't know how I got there or what it was about. A GM had to come and get me out.

All other classic zones, I've been to. We used to do weddings in EK by the water fall, Best of the Best compititions in the old Arena. Level 10-20 old School Split Paw. Raiding plane of Fear when it went live as a level 36 paladin.

I find that the Qeynos side of Antonica has a lot more character (more quests, more general immersion into the game) - which is sad, because I spent a vast majority of my time in Faydwer/East Antonica. Kelethin was always my favorite city.

I've been to every zone, but Runnyeye and Crushbone i visited for the first time here on p99. Gorge of king xorbb... i think i've been there once... hell, i bet most people couldn't even find the zone line!

I was in Runnyeye once. In a full group - we went all the way down to the boss room (King? dont remember) - took us a couple or more hours I think.

the boss mob was there and after a tough fight we killed him - I looted him and he had only a rusty weapon (this was before the loot messages etc). We were all quite disappointed :-( I did meet one of my best ingame buddies there - enchanter called Veneficus Noriega. All round fun guy.

Sometimes it is strange that you could recall a lot of ingame character names from EQ then, after a decade.

The zone to Plane of earth is there, you just have to spin 3 times and click you heals together while saying "I wish I wasnt a gnome, I wish I wasnt a gnome". You can also use that method to open the portal to Lollipop Land, near the druid ring in east commons.

Same here. Back during live I wanted to see everything. Exploration was the fun part. In fact I probably spent more time going places I shouldn't be and getting myself killed than anything else. That's probably why I leveled slow the first time around.

On Live I played PvP Teams so there were MANY zones I may have "gone to" but not "spent time in". Ya I went to Sol B for Naggy raids.....but I had never spent ANY time in an XP group until I came to P99.

In fact - I made the same race/class as Live - but I ALSO made it a point to NOT level up in the same zones I did on Live. I wanted to experience Guk, Sol B, Paw, CT, etc - so those were the zones/dungeons I spent the majority of my time here on P99.

Runnyeye, however, is the ONE zone I have yet to spend any decent time in. I don't even think I ran thru it.

There's cat rooms in various zones in Norrath. You can get to the cat room in Befallen on P1999 if you know about a specific bug.

For those that missed Runnyeye, back in the day, it was one of the most dangerous and entertaining fighting zones in the game... I will never forget seeing the mesage about Borxx "turning her attention to you" or something like that.

Crushbone is like my second favorite zone (favorite is highpass). I can't imagine EQ life without Crushbone. With the exp modifier it's like one of the best places to level too, not sure how you miss it.

If you start in the Qeynos area, by the time you get to Crushbone, you have out leveled it.

I only went to Odus once to just fool around and check out the Erudite city - I don't even know it's name. I've also never been to Grobb...I actually had to just now look up where it is, and found that I had no clue it was off of Innothule Swamp.

Blackburrow is one of my favorites - high pass is right next to it, especially when the gnolls / orcs kinda ruled the place and running through was risky unless both parts were fully camped etc.

I'm surprised several of you haven't spent much time in Runnyaye; I loved that place; and it's pretty big. Yes Borxx was terrifying. Just being at the zone line there was scarey since you can see all the "Mob casts" messages from the lower dungeon levels.

Spent the least time in the akanon area. I did some fletching with a wood elf ranger; so I did get the chance to check out Crushbone; which was fun. Crushbone, more than any other zone, reminds me of an amusement park. Large open-air zone; and chaotic. Trains are always heading to the zone.

some of my best times on live were wandering around akanon with my buddy, cybering eachother in weird corners or trying to figure out how to exploit clockwork pathing lol ^_^

Crushbone and BB are almost completely parallel to one another, with BB having more depth.

Since I personally favored faydwer over western antonica, I got used to "DVINN TO ZONE" instead of gigantic trains from below.

In retrospect, western antonica had more character (as i've said before) than faydwer/east antonica and I wish I would have had that experience...

First time around I was a half-elf from Surefall... It was a long while before I even made it to Faydwer.

This time around I was a high-elf. I hunted a bit outside of Crushbone but by level 6 or so I was on to BB and Freeport... really it was just because of what I was more familiar with.

Funny how things work out...

On my first attempt to get to Freeport I died at the docks in BB
After running back, I caught the boat, met a real nice guy in Divinity who gave my newb char an Oracle Robe! If I didn't die the first time, I would not have made that friend in the game :)

Other than a gnome I have only made a DE that I leveled past 10. I level in Steamfont from 1-12, so I haven't really explored any of the other newbie zones. I tried to do Crushbone at level 12 this time around. I went in there and there was 1 group killing everything with a high level helping out. I couldn't get a kill to myself or find a group to join. I then went straight to unrest and never went back to CB.

There might be 1 or 2 more zones i haven't been to.

There're a LOT of zones I haven't experienced in or do not know much about. For example, I've entered Najena (on live) but didn't go any deeper than the entrance. I've seen Castle Mistmoore briefly. On and on...

I also didn't see a lot of the zones as they were in 1999. For example, just recently on this server I saw many places in freeport I had never seen before. This is because the revamped freeport is different than the old one and even though I did go to freeport in 1999 I didn't explore it very much.

I've always wanted to go to Mistmoor but never really got the chance. I went to Najena for the first time a few days ago and i've recently gone on my first dungeon crawl into upper guk.

On live I spent a LOT of time in Blackburrow, the Warrens, and Unrest. Later I went to Crystal Caverns, but that was always solo since it was still almost impossible to find groups back in 05.

My first character was an Erudite Cleric, which is what I am now :)
Second was a High Elf Paladin
Third Gnome Shadowknight, got him to 48 before I quit.
