So, i am now level 29 as an shadow knight. Im wondering it is now worth it to start soloing some blues for reliable xp, or should i still worry about group up? I just dont want to be level 34 when kunark hits (If it does) and cant do any of the epic things there.

Excuse my newbishness, but i am wanting to catch up with everyone. And i dont want to have to run around, get a bind, and keep a group waiting for a hell of a long time.

Kunark has content for all levels I believe. You could do 1-60 there without ever leaving.

SK's are great at soloing - go for it!

SKs are good at soloing but it isn't efficient and with your experience penalty you will level slower than if you were in a group. Not a bad practise to do while looking for a group though. Just keep vampiric embrace on and have fear ready if you get low on health and need to kite.

I solo'd a lot on my SK when I couldn't get groups. Having a Mithril 2Hander helps though.

I solo when its slow, but I still prefer groups.. the xp is much faster imo

Yar I managed to solo undead cyclops at 29 and felt like I was the king of karanas. Much kiting and medding in a distance was done. =p

You can solo as SK, it's just that when you see a necro somewhere you kinda feel like you're doing the exact same thing, just not nearly as well.
EDIT: Unless you're madly twinked I guess!

The EXP penalty point is a good one. If you're in a group, you spread your penalty around, so (unless the group's all hybrids) you're going to have a far smaller one. If you're soloing, that penalty's all yours.

What Tseng and Estu said.

If it doesn't work too well at 29, try again at 30. FD is great for splitting spawns in dungeons for the xp bonus and for a 'do-over' if a fight doesn't go well or you get trained. Another dot, higher pet, and new lifetap also help.

Yup, get to level 30. You get your 45 pt life tap and fiegn death spell.

Like everyone else stated here. Solo while waiting for group.

Ah, thanks a ton guys! Actually just be hitting 31 now, so Dark Reaver is procing now!

SO what would be a good place to start grabbing some things to kill and where? Splitpaw, Guk, whatever.

I have indeed found the new pet and lifedraw helpful along with FD.

when you come out of mistmoore, if you head directly NE you'll find a camp full of elven rangers (well, warriors), the doublehut has 2 outside and a lot inside, around 4-5.

the other 2 single huts have a single in each, and directly north in a small ditch is a loner static elf.

you could slay/split these folks all the way to 35, at 35 they become light blue though.

leveled there myself 29-35 on my shaman, was cake, downside is 0 drops besides elf meat off the ditch loner, and of course kissing your high elf/wood elf factions goodbye.

edit: easier directions would be if youre at the dark elf camp along the wall near MM, go directly north and you'll hit the wood elf camp as well.

Couple other ones to kill would be colin and valon in EC and the 2 watchmen in Steamfont. Watch out for the gnomes though they come with a vengeance.

Dark Reaver is nice, but you need item haste too. Work on getting an fbss or switching to a mith2her.

I rarely soloed in my day, and prided myself on my pulling in dungeons (which translated to some raid pulling, esp Sleepers and ToV where monks would get splatted). LGuk and Seb when it comes out are where I perfected my snare/fd split pulls.

Doesnt Valon and Colin screw my FP faction in the long run?

You're an SK that worships Innoruk. You should be running around killing anything that moves.

At least human inny-worshippers start out amiable to the FP militia.

Eh, it's + faction with NFP, where most things of interest (notably the bank) are. You can get to NFP without dealing with the militia...

Hmmm, okay ill check out this elf camp at a later time.

But what about my guild faction? If im out slaughtering the militia, wont my faction with the Dismal Rage and everything trainer wise get wrecked? I would just like to be able to run around without getting raped by a guard...

FP guards only have the following faction hits:

-Coalition of Tradefolk Illegal
-Freeport Militia
+Knights of Truth
+Priests of Marr

None of these should stop you from training at the SK guild
