I currently have a stein of moggok and harvester. I was looking around at the other choices and I'm wanting to keep around my +15 intell with my main/off hand combo.
These are the only items I can think of that are in classic, please add any worth while items that you know of:
Stein of Moggok
Harvester
Words of Darkness
Gnoll Hide Tomb
Jeweled Skull
The Crystal deal from SolB thats +Mana/HP
Glowing Black Stone
Those are the only ones I can come up with that aren't from planes.
The GBS is something I really want to get to replace the Harvester... I was just hoping to find something to replace the stein as well since I have had it since level 13.

Stein is really hard to beat, since it boosts a lil hps on top of the 10int.
Glowing black stone is great of course, if you can find one for sale.. 10sv magic is going to be far more useful than the little extra mana or hps something else will give you.
The Cryosilk Webshield is the one from Fear, but it's droppable and sells in the 7k neighboorhood, it's solid for pure casters, but you'll get a much longer life out of the rokkyl's crystal (50 hp 50mana).. The downside is the rokkyl crystal and shield are *both* secondary equippable only. Which is a crying shame because the webshield + crystal would be pretty tough to beat unless you were facing a ton of casting mobs + tanking, in which you'd swap in the GBS.
If you're looking to dump the harvester, that Gnoll Hide Tomb is likely your best bet in your price range. Altho, like the harvester (8wgt), the Tomb is gonna hurt you lewtz-carrying ability, which is generally more important than int/mana to a class that's got it's own mana regen and is rarely fm anyways.
I used the Jewelled Skull/ Stein combo for a long time on Miley, it's hard to beat considering how cheaply both are acquired.

Harvester and Stein of Moggok were what immediately sprang to mind. You're wielding a scythe and a beer mug, why would you even try to top that?

Thanks Bubbles - I think I'm just going to stick with the harvester/stein until I am able to get a GBS. Then I can just use that extra intel and switch out an intel earring with hp/mana or resists.

Why does everyone have to dump on the Harvester? Nice piece of gear.
For Erudites like me who can't see when it gets dark it is a godsend.

Quite honestly, I think +STR gear for caster classes is a godsend. Casters need STR to be able to omgfarm =D

The Harvester gives you +5 STR but weighs 8 stones. It is the equivalent to negative 3 str lol.
So you are looking at 5 intell, 4 ac, negative 5 cha, negative 3 stones you can carry and the deadeye.
I personally don't need the deadeye because I can see fine. I loved it on pvp server but here I don't really care if I see people when they are invis.
Honestly a Sacrificial Dagger would be just as useful right now. I would be trading the 4 AC and Deadeye (mostly pointless) for .5 more weight I could carry and the ability to kill level 1 skeletons that aggro me when I have no pet up without blowing through mana.
I just keep the Harvester now because of looks, would gladly trade it in for something with 5 intell and any kind of hps/mana/resists which is why I'm going for the GBS eventually.

The Harvester weighs 8.0 so just by unequipping you'll net gain 3 str. Not that you should, just saying'.

Ok, so the Harvester is useful for Necromancers who are afraid of the dark...
I see the error in my ways. :P

Oh i almost forgot: I used a Black Tome With Silver Runes for a long, long time simply for the int and +mana. And anyone who's ever camped live side will tell, by the time you get to EC you're willing to give away those tomes just to never have to look at them again hehe.
