Hello,
Very excited to get back, but cant get the DL from Bit Torrent to load right, any good tips there?
Was thinking I was just going to go buy a used or new copy of the game. Are there any issues if I buy used? If the key has been used, will it matter at all for this? Any suggestions on how to get started?
I have read the set up guides, etc, but honestly havent even got to them yet, still need an install and want to make sure it will work.
Thanks,
thulseh

Used key doesn't matter since that only applies to a Sony account.

this is an emu server, no keys required. if you want to get yours hands on some cd's go a head, it's the same as installing from the files you would get from a download.
for the rest, refer to the FAQ and setup guide, it's complete and simple.
for downloads try something like utorrent, and once it's installed you can go to a torrent site like btjunkie and do a search for eq titanium.
utorrent is the program that lets you download, but you go to btjunkie to find the download and then start it up in utorrent.
I was able to download it over night and install the next day when I got back from work (and my connection isn't the best)

Thanks for the help. I tried the download, had it all but I couldnt get it installed and thought having the disks might make enough difference to make it a lot easier for me.
Glad to know I can get used, that will save some cash.
Anyone have advice on how to install once downloaded?

So I got all the files, but for the extraction part....it includes some Daemon347 thing or something like that, but its not supported from my pc so I cant open it. Try following the readme instructions and I cant figure out the work around...kept saying right click on icon by system clock....no idea other then the right bottom corner clock.
Will any other version work that I can get? I would pay the 20 bucks for SoD if that would actually work

to further elaborate...
I got winzip to try to extract these instead...i actually got the install to work on the first cd...rest of the cds just lets me extract...i got the first part to start install, but when it said insert second disk, that one only let me extract it so couldnt get past that....
hope that helps, any assistance would be great, sorry im a newb at this stuff..beyond my usual level

hi,
What you got are cd images, you need to use a "cd emulator" program to load up the images into.
how it works is, the programs lets you load the cd image into a virtual cd drive. your computer then thinks it has a cd drive with the EQ cd in it.
that's what the daemon program is. there are other tools that do that as well.
here is a link to the download of daemon tools form their website:
http://www.disc-tools.com/download/daemon
you should have no problems downloading and installing that. just read what you clikc when you install it, at one point they try to trap you into installing a toolbar, I would recommend removing that check mark before clicking next.
it's compatible from xp to windows 7 so unless you are on a mac, you should have no problems.
if you are on a mac... some one else will have to help you!
let me know how it goes.

This confused me at first too. They mean the tray. Also the Daemon icon didn't appear in the tray initially for me for whatever reason. Once it did I could proceed.

Henini....thanks much for the explanation...that has helped me understand a bit how to pursue it, think I have got it now, on disc 3 at least, should work the same from here. Thanks for all the help, will chime back in if still stuck

it's alt+tab but that will only work if you have something else opened.
so open the folder where the disc images are or open a web browser or something, this will enable you to alt+tab out of the eq full screen and into something not full screen which will give you access to the system tray.

emmm... you trying to modify it where it is installed on your pc?
eq is not open?
which version of windows you using?
unless something is accessing the file, you should be able to modify it.

right click on the file and check the properties, seems like it's write protected. it shouldn't be though, so there might be an other problem, this being just a consequence.
