So I'm attempting to find help for my RL friend who plays with me here on P99. Every single time he launches WinEQ and loads the game, he gets the load EQ theme music because his settings do not save. He has to go into options each time to turn off/down music/sound, change his resolution and everything.

On top of which, his characters UI does not save. He has to reset all of his windows and key configurations.

No one I've asked in game seems to have a clue how to help with this. Hoping someone here can lend a bit of help.

We've checked his eqclient.ini and character.ini files to make sure read only wasn't checked. His EQ director for P99 is installed in C:\, not under program files (which mine is as well, so that shouldn't be an issue).

Did you happen to copy your P99 folder for him? Either way right click EQ folder and goto properties and make sure read only isnt on.

Wait, are you talking about the folder titled "Project 1999" itself? that contains everything for EQ? Or are you talking about a file inside that folder?

Because if I check the Project 1999 file itself, it has the "Read-only (Only applies to files in folder) box checked for me, and I don't have that problem.

Right click the Folder.
Choose Properties > Security.
Choose Edit permissions.
Make sure you have Full Control.

Done and this didn't fix it either.

For the whole folder or even just for the ui files themselves. You could have the folder set to read only but the files inside might not be.

Thulack. Tried that and it still didn't fix it. Checked both the .ini files and the folder itself. Under the security options in each it has Full Control enabled.

Nothing seems to be working.

As I said above, it wasn't. It's installed in the C:\

Problem not solved.

Does he /q out every time he logs off? I thought settings were only saved when you /camp.
