What do you guys use for video editing? Getting a dubious version seems to backfire on me whatever I try.
Used to use Cyberlink Powerdirector before my laptop shut down forever, but haven't been able to replace it.
Ideally something that has features but not so many features that it'll take a week of sitting down and practicing to use things :)
Any suggestions appreciated :p

I use Sony Movie Studio 11. It's cheap and does about everything I need. You could go for the more expensive versions, too.

Premiere and after effects. Pinnacle pro isnt too bad if you want to get a cheap editor.

Adobe Premiere CC (or 2014) picks up where FCP 7 left off since it was abandoned
Avid is high up there but I hate it
and I guess sony vegas
fcp and premiere are pretty easy to find if you know what i mean

Sony Movie Studio is $50 whereas these others are about $800, so choose carefully.

I wouldn't spend $800 thats for sure, but I'd definitely spend "$800".
Had problems "at the checkout" with Sony Movie Studio but will continue to try some others listed... something's gotta work.
Once I've got something set up you can expect some p99 content on youtube... I'd love to stream on Twitch but I live with sheep and horses for neighbours so fast internet isnt a thing here :p

Lets put this another way, I wouldn't spend $90 on EQ Titanium... but I sure would "buy" EQ Titanium online.

Final Cut 7 and Premiere CC aren't complicated to use for basic editing, the controls are practical and intuitive, whereas the cheap programs like imovie, windows movie maker, etc, can be extremely cumbersome and frustrating to use.
At least that's my experience.
