I did see the thread labeled Fire Pot room but the last post on this was in 2011 and I am unsure about accuracy so, I am going to create a new thread asking a couple questions.
1. Is this still in the game, and if so, are all the fire-pots available just like what the wiki says? http://wiki.project1999.com/Travel_Guide
2. Are you able to bind yourself there?
3. Are you able to bind others there?
Soon after Kunark release a friend of mine found it and it was a close kept secret in which MANY people on Povar did not know of until months later.
I bound there with my enchanter and only died to Faydedor.....3 times....I believe. Not many times, which is good. I got away with craziness a couple times by dying, respawning with nothing on and resisting Fay's fear for some odd reason.
Thank you for your time.

Arent some people bound there before they made it so you couldn't bind in TD?

Love being bound there - removes a lot of the drawback of an evil iksar necromancer (faction wise) as hometown is only a gate away.

Don't have to worry about Fay roaming around wreaking havoc on this server...

Yep. Not one fuck is given gating on my 29 druid to spires above FP room lol. Never have to worry about being jumped by Fay here.

I can only assume you mean he is farmed as soon as he spawns. So literally he lasts a few minutes...

He lasts on his spawn spot unagro'd for probably 5 seconds from when he pops. Everytime except for simulated repops.

Yep. I just started P99 and one guy told me about the saturation of this server and all the camping.
That is very disconcerting.
I remember the good ol'days of epics coming out and having to park a level 1 on the spires and wait for their death to know Faydedar had spawned, then logging on your druid and kiting him around TD for 1-2 hours while people mobilized and to keep him from ganking himself on the Iksar master.
Here that would land you a ban.

*Because guilds would petition you for preventing them from selling their 15th Pod of Seawater MQ and the ability to put a Water Dragon Shield on their level 52 Vox Warrior so that they can effectively sit at 255 MR and get spammed with Donals CHs for 15minutes while their guild clears the train of giants that was grabbed out of Vox's Lair. Because you know... Classic Raiding.

Don't believe everything you read/hear. Sure if you try to camp Fury or the Ancient Cyclops at 6pm EST they'll probably be taken, but that was true on live also. Just like on live here you have to deal with the fact that EQ is a shared world and not your own personal playground.
But at the end of the day Blue's population levels are lower than the live servers', and Red is a ghost town (comparatively). Admittedly there are more level 60 players than on live, but even at level 60 you can still certainly find places to hunt. Plus Velious should be out within a year, and it will open up a ton of new hunting spots for level 60s.
In short, this server is awesome, but there will always be people who are bitter about it. If you listen to them they'll just spoil your fun and make you imagine things being worse than they really are.

On p99, raid mobs don't shout at you, "You've ruined your own lands! You'll not ruin mine!" Rather, they only get as far as "You've ruu.." and then they are dead and the raid is over, loot is distributed by the Wise Ones, and then everyone goes back to their alts to wait for the next batphone. Whole process takes maybe 30 seconds.
I exaggerate of course, but I do know, most of the Class R guilds require some kind of law degree in order to recruit. Because before and after the encounter is about 5-10 hours of rules lawyering and /petitioning. That's how you accumulate the fat per-hour DKP; the mob kills themselves take seconds.
Billable hours. It's all about the billable hours.

If you want to enjoy your time on P99 then learn to love it for what it is, don't be mad at it for what it is not.

Considering the age of the server though I am not surprised by the current situation as more and more people reach the endgame.

Another way of putting this is, find out what p99 is fun for (a LOT) and don't kid yourself about what it's not. Some of us aren't mad, just frank.
But I am surprised how little the GM's seem to mind, the server is basically on a high-end lockdown, year after year. That's unimaginative on their part, and, in a few years, will be the reason the server dies off. Who wants to *have* to join a set of guilds in order to get to the end content (or pay fat plats for loot rights)?
What is the solution? I'm not a GM. But if after a year or two of Velious, if the p99 people have not figured out a tweak to the game mechanics that thwart the sort of very predictable mega-guild lockdown this server currently lives under, I would be disappointed, because it shows they are not really GM's, just people who know how to warp around a modified titanium client and settle minor disputes.
But a GM knows how to run a game. And sooner or later, the p99 GM's are gonna have to decide if they want this type of raid scene to just continue on indefinitely. After a year or so of Velious, we shall see if they have any real sense of creative understanding of eq, or whether they are just digital janitors for a game with very predictable limits at the high end.
That's right: not a hater. This is called being Sadre. I say what I think, and if it makes you feel butthurt, not my problem. It's just a game.

Freeing up access to content would shorten the lifespan of the server. People play because they have things to do to advance their characters in game. Since we have a finite amount of content, he longer that takes the longer people have to play. Sure sme might get burned out, but I think it stretches things out much longer than if everyone had access I everything from day 1. ^^
