Was block this much better than parry/dodge in classic, even into velious? I was looking at someones posted parse below and saw it was ~9% block, 3% for dodge/parry. Does this change going into velious? Cant rememba

That only addresses the Defense skill, not all defensive skills... :/

Here is a comparison of all the defensive skill caps at level 60. Please note that Defense is not avoidance-related, it only affects your character's AC.

Parry: 230
Block: 0
Riposte: 225
Defense: 252
Paladin/Shadow Knight:
Dodge: 155
Parry: 205
Block: 0
Riposte: 200
Defense: 252
Ranger:
Dodge: 170
Parry: 220
Block: 0
Riposte: 150
Defense: 200
Monk:
Dodge: 230
Parry: 0
Block: 225
Riposte: 225

Everyone knows Bards are the hidden sleeper OP tank. Hence, why it isn't listed here.
I really have no idea what the developers were thinking in regards to monk vs warrior endgame. "Lets make monks like warriors, except better".

I don't think EQ's original plan was concerned with things like balance. It certainly didn't consider the end game, because the end game wasn't something that existed before this.
Monks could do what they do because that seemed like something a monk should do.
