It seems we get some more variety in Velious, but right now things are pretty bland :/ Your help is requested!
Anyone know of a helm of any kind that does not look like a hoody on Erudite females?
Also, does anyone know of any pants that are more interesting than a solid color? I currently have seb scale legs which have a faint stripe pattern, but look very similar to the no pants graphic.
Any other spiffilicious looking items?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

For Erudites, any plate class of helmet will have the appearance of a hood. Also, the hood will adopt the color of whatever gloves you have equipped. If you want to try something different, then any chain or leather class of helmet will not have a hood appearance.
I would suggest a Kylong War Helm, which will be a red chainmail graphic, and has good stats for a Paladin.

Interesting, I did not know either of those facts! That should create some new opportunities. Thanks!

Did not know about texture edits. Do you have them available somewhere?

There was a thread on the forums here (I think it may be in the text only archive area now) about editing existing textures to create "hi res" textures of the old EQ base textures using a program called s3dspy.
It lets you unpack the .s3d texture files, extract the bmp (bitmap) images and edit/re-insert modified ones.
I decided to take it a lil further and instead of updating the old texture to be higher res, simply changed it out for a different texture.
In the first gif I replaced a few textures (the cloth hood, the face and the chest texture).
In the second one, I just edited one of the erudite female face textures to be a black square with two white rectangles and voila a full plate helm look (that was my first attempt at it and I spent about 10 minutes on it).
I don't think you could use them in tandem though since they both are facial texture updates (you could edit the plate helm texture to a cooler look than flat robe though).
There is also a better program for this than s3dspy but I can't remember the name (it's installed on my laptop and was available via sourceforge - I'll check when I get home).

Thanks, I could have fun with this. Does it extract models too?

I'm not sure how the EQ models are stored - I know s3dspy can also let you extract sound files (for instance, to get rid of the thunder crackle sound by modifying the mp3 or wav file its contained in).
Some other fun changes I did when messing around with it were to swap race textures (giving the half elf thong to ogres :D)

Hah nice! We're you able to find out the name of the other program that you said works better than 3dspy?
Thank you btw!
