Sorry if this question has been asked before, I have searched the forums a whole bunch but have come up empty handed.

I'm just wondering what you guys think is the best Shaman for a race across Norrath?

Really? I don't feel like that thread addresses my main question.

Nice, I'll bet the good faction makes it a bit easier to race across the continent.

I was thinking that Ogre frontal stun immunity wouldn't matter too much because the mobs would be hitting you from behind in a race situation.

Obvious troll is obvious.

You would think that Troll might be an obvious choice as they have that HP regen that would allow them to take a few more hits just to survive the race. Also, they don't have to worry about training the entire zone quite as much as an Iksar does. Does an Iksar's/Troll's regen make up for the extra HP from stamina an Ogre might get?

I still think that Pint has the best answer, Barbarians, for faction reasons. I do worry, however, that the run from Halas would make a Barbarian late to most major races.

During a race there is the potential for inclement weather. A gust of wind to the frontal area of an Ogre would have no impact, where as an iksar or barbarian would surely falter.

Ogre.

Hmm, I haven't experienced enough inclement weather in Norrath to stun while on a toon of any race. The only real reason I can see for choosing Ogre would be the Ogre's ability to block other racers' movement. This could really help with a race through an indoor zone. The down side is the need to plan your route carefully as Ogres get stuck easily and using a shrink pot would negate your ability to be a beef-wall.

Are Trolls able to beef-wall? How about Iksars and Barbarians? These mechanics could be important to the outcome of any race.

Ogre with AON.

How would the AoN help Ogres be the best race for a shaman race race? Maybe hiding your name plate could trick your opponents into thinking you weren't a contender, "Just a decaying skeleton, nothing to see here!"

Troll.

I'm unfamiliar with how to measure mph in the world of Norrath.

Also, I was under the impression that all races moved at the same speed unbuffed.

It would be interesting to know if your toon zoned when their center axis touches the zoneline, or, if you zone when your character model touches the zoneline. If it is the second option then indeed the troll may win out with their long noses.

cus one argument is that walking around while big is laaaaaame and arguably a disadvantage that could get them killed as many times as thier frontal stun could save thier lives, so aon removes that argument from the table.

Does an AoN remove an Ogre's ability to be a beef-wall?

If not, a deceptively small skeleton with an impassable bubble around them might be nigh unbeatable.
Although, if you are large enough to block players you are still large enough to get stuck. Still, an AoN Ogre might be the best race for a race.

If so, that removes the Ogre races' only useful racial ability for races.

heh, you cant argue that ogres have the really only useful racial attribute at 60, but you can argue that its invaluable.

I never claimed that Ogres have the only useful racial ability at level 60. I merely pointed out that the Ogres' unique size advantage might give them the ability to block other races in a shaman race race.
If an AoN takes away their size it does indeed remove their races' only useful racial in a race.
I am, of course, assuming that the Ogre frontal stun racial ability wouldn't be useful to their race in a race as most things that are would be attacking you in a shaman race race would be attacking you from behind.
