Ranger primary weapons

Trying to get some opinions on a good primary weapon for my ranger. He has swiftwind in Secondary and I need a good fast delay primary weapon with some decent stats. He currently has Lamentation in his primary.

I saw that one, but it's not good for mes breaks. It's definitely on my list though.

Hmm, I feel like I've had this conversation before ;)

There really aren't many options for rangers outside VP other than Earthcaller. Fayguard Parrying Dagger is kind of a situational/solo weapon too, since its AoE proc is a crowd controller's nightmare. Still more than worth picking up.

Lupine Dagger (http://wiki.project1999.com/Lupine_Dagger) for doggy-style points. Otherwise you're stuck with Lamentation (http://wiki.project1999.com/Lamentation)/Jade Mace (http://wiki.project1999.com/Jade_Mace).

Yeah, I was just asking around to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I like lamentation over jade mace and I have access to the wolf form buff now at level 56. Guess I need to take a trip into howling stones for a dagger and a hoop.

A lot depends if you are trying to be a Tank or be DPS Assist to one. You don't want fast weapons at all if you assist. Rangers have WAY too much agro the way it is. Why the devs ever gave them taunt is beyond me. :D

I would think at your level Tanking is over with and use Ranger 2 Handers and be happy with more damage and less taunt. You might live a lot longer. :p No way you are going to tank in Velious.

I have some 2 handed weapons available, but I would only use them fighting dragons. I don't steal agro and Velious mobs have high ac so hitting fast will be ideal since you won't be doing max damage anyways. Plus in Velious rangers should get weapon shield and will want to be on the top of agro for tank switches.
