My buddy's character ended up decaying in Unrest while he was outta town.
Apparently, he was sure he was going to be back in time to loot his corpse.
However, he was not.
I barely got him into eq, and hes so sad that his stuffs gone :[
He wont accept hand-me-downs and stuff so i was wondering if he can petition or something for his body back?


I'm trying to find out for his sake, really he doesn't mind starting from scratch..
He did manage to work up 1.5k in gear, poor dude..
So should he make a forum account and petition?

Have your buddy post it in the petition forums.

Sorry to say it, but your buddy is screwed. Corpse decay is in classic and the items/gear won't be given back

How about you stop trying to spread lies.

Any Guide+ can summon a corpse, decayed included. Just petition.

Even in EQlive back in classic if your corpse decayed a GM could and would summon it back for you. Just have to be nice to our purty GM's ;).

Happened to me a few times, would die somewhere get pissed off and log off for a week lol.

Nope. They'll check corpses from sky for keys. We aren't allowing that.

Didn't know either that GM's summon corpses which got lost by player's fault. Always thought that a possible decay was intended as part of the risk/reward-system.

Ya GMs restore corpses if you weren't able to get back to them for whatever reason.

For the most part, it's in place so that the server doesnt become flooded with year old corpses. This is resolved anyway.


For future reference, the petition forum is that way.

That's a pretty generous policy. The server would be totally justified in letting them rot. Such was the case with my EQ experience.

Agree, but really.. why kill the guys good time in EQ?
What would it really hurt to help him out and summon his corpse back one time.

That could really put a damper on ones experience loosing everything like that.
I mean, even loosing a small item like say a Paw due to a lag bug could even dampen ones spirits.. after like say 5 weeks. just sayin :D

Lies make the world go round. But hell, I don't remember gms giving back decayed corpses in classic. Not to mention even having a decay timer when you can get it back like that is sort of moot
