Hi all,
I play a 12 dwarf paladin and am interested in hunting in Kurn's tower, but i Have the following concerns:
Is it dangerous to travel to the Field of Bone? Is there a close point a druid or wizard could drop me off, or would i need to hoof it?
Where can I bind? I read Kaesora is an available bind spot. Just outside or inside?
Is it possible to gain faction with the Iksar to the point of being able to vendor (and possibly bank) in Cabilis?
If not, where could I go to vend?
And finally, is it worth the trip, or should i just stay home and continue to grind in Crushbone?
Many thanks!

1.) It's moderately dangerous to travel to field of bone. You will need some sort of invisibility. Safest way to travel is to have a druid escort you with SoW/Skin/Invis/Lev to Dreadlands, zone into KC, and port to Emerald Jungle. Then zone from EJ to Field of Bone.
2.) You can bind inside the ruins outside of the Kaesora zoneline. Beware of the 30ish skeleton that patrols inside.
3.) Cannot comment on factioning with Cabilis
4.) I'm not aware of any vendors that you could use nearby without the use of sneak.
5.) It being worth the trip is up to you. The exp in Kurn's is excellent and unrivaled for its level up until 20. You will need ports to and from the area to avoid any potential long corpse runs. It would probably be much safer to stay in Crushbone and level up. However this is EverQuest and adventure is a part of the game.

Totally not worth the hassle when you have unrest on your doorstep. Fighting 15 people for the 10sh spwns on the first floor vs unrest mobs everywhere and equal XP (in experience, just went thru there and went to unrest). Plus banking/merchant/GMs for skills & spells If you go to unrest...which sounds better to you?

Why would you go all the way to KC? Why not just evac to EJ that doesn't make sense and is a waste of time

In the rare case that this is an actual legitimate question, as it stands currently, evac's can only done from inside Kunark dungeons. KC, Droga, HS, Seb, etc etc, thus the reasoning for going to KC first, then EJ.

Head to Oasis and catch boat to OT. From OT get a Levitate from someone in zone, and get a bind at outpost w/invis in-case you find trouble on the journey. Run through Warsilks Woods to Field of Bone. Essentially just follow the shore to left of Outpost and then along zone wall. Once in FoB go to Kaesora ruins and get a bind from a higher level. Watch out for the Red Con skeleton that roams the ruins, bind in the safe tunnel by zone-line to Kaesora.
I prefer to get to FoB this way. But skip the bind at outpost!! This is for an evil race.
If you want to go to Kurns, go to Kurns. If you do not like it for whatever reason (overcamped/no vendor/no bank) then head to Unrest, it isn't going anywhere. (It; however, is also overcamped - but not to the extent of Kurns)
Also points for dorf pally. My first character on live and my main for 10 years - Cheers!

Stick with CB, based on how busy Kurn's Tower gets (make a lizard briefly and run in there around your usual game time).
If CB is looking busy, consider the mobs that roam in front of the minotaur cave in Steamfont - it's Faydwer's best kept secret from 11-15ish.

Getting to KC is not easy even with invis - when I went there, the guards outside were scowling at me, even though I was invisible.

Kurns, not KC.

Kurns, not KC.
Yeah, but they talked about getting to Kurns via EJ>FoB, which involves evacing from KC.

Posted this recently in another thread:
1. Take the boat from Oasis to Overthere.
2. Get someone to bind you at the evil outpost there (in case you die on the way to FoB).
3. Run to Warsliks Wood, then straight to Field of Bone (no need to go through Cabilis).
4. Get someone to bind you at the ramp outside Kaesora. (You do not need to go near the entrance to bind.)
Iksar faction can be gained by killing bandits/other outcast Iksar, and by doing the bone chips turn in quest in Field of Bone.
Just outside Cabilis in the Field of Bone, Trooper Mozo will reward you for every four (unstacked) bone chips you give him.
In order to actually do the turn in though, you would need a druid to wolf form you. It's a long road to get faction with Iksar. For vendor, the closest I can think of is an indifferent Iksar merchant in OT, by the pond just north of the WW zone line.
Anyway, I want to add that you shouldn't be discouraged simply by things being difficult or whatever. This is EQ. Explore! Do what you want.

Fastest way to get iksar faction as a non iksar is to reroll an enchanter and do the iksar illusion quest ;)

If you want to go there safest bet is to bind in Freeport and then use the evil boat to Overthere, then follow the coast to WW and then follow the WW coast to FoB. If the server has it, not sure if it's classic, you can bind in the ruins of Kaesora, but that's guarded by the lv 30ish ikky skellie.
Next would be Druid port to EJ plus invis while going cautiously keeping an eye out for skellies to aggro, but they have a tendency to hang around the staircase along the way, as do a lot of other mobs.
As for faction, it's only viable in the late 50s, if not at 60, by living in Seb and getting faction as you level there.

imo it would take way too long to get iksar faction, we hate outsiders :P

Another long option if you can't find anyone to escort you to KC and evac is to at least get levitate/invis/sow then run over DL to Frontier Mountains then to LOIO, then FV, Then swamp of no hope and finally into FOB. Not the best option by any means but I did it on my level 15 shaman the other day just fine.

Or you could just DL -> FV -> SoNH -> FoB. No need to go through FM and LOIO.

Or take the good boat from FM to FV -> SoNH -> FoB.

It's quicker and safer to hope on the evil boat and jump off of the Bloated Belly before it docks in OT, then hug the coast and wall to WW.
I hated the good boat even when I was a goodie and would use the evil boat to get to Kunark only swinging by FV to bank and shit.

It coming out of Butcherblock ruins it. There's no point in taking a boat from Freeport to BB and the another to FV when you can just take one from Oasis.
