food/drink duration

I did a seach and found lots of answers but no exact answer.
Is duration in on food and drink? will an enduring drink outlast a normal drink, etc?

I wasted a lot of money on Fuzzlecutter before I realized that it's not lasting any longer than milk.

BTW, I noticed that Ping Fuzzlecutter is amiable to a gnome necro - that was a little surprising. It's not just the race, since Al'Anon guards are dubious to this char.
Anyone knows what Ping's story is?
