So what are the zones were people typically level? Could someone please put their own quick guide to the hot zones on this server from 1-60?
Currently i'm a level 16 Ogre Warrior and curious where everyone is so it'd be the easiest to have a party. Also, looking for a place with decent loot. Currently i'm in Nro but the croc meat doesn't sell for too much. I was tempted to swing over to Kunark here now that I have nothing to learn until level 25.
Thank you guys!

Well "hot zones" aren't the same as live.
The well trodden path where you'll always find people are...
Crushbone
Unrest
Mistmoore
City of Mist
Karnor's Castle
Sebilis
In that order. For an ogre you can probably substitute Crushbone for some Upper Guk (or North Ro/EC) > Oasis before hitting Unrest.
If you head to Kunark...
16-20 Kurn's Tower
20-30 Lake of Ill Omen (if you can find groups, just need a healer to get one started)
(or) 20-29 Warslik's Woods

As for loot, get to 50+ as fast as you can, earn plat along the way and then you can gear up fairly cheaply in EC.
Try and pick up some good aggro/proc weapons if you haven't got any at the moment, those epic rogues gonna be stealing it left and right - and the bad ones never evade :p
Basically...get to 46, guild up with a guild that raids and try and get some loot in Plane of Hate ;)

Ask them if they've got an evade macro set up... some of them need a clip round the ear and a bit of encouragement, otherwise the usual sink happens.
1. Healer goes oom.
2. People sit around for a bit while healer gets mana back.
3. Someone's dog dies.
4. Someone else's "kid" just woke up.
5. Group disbands.
Kids never wake up when the XP is good... never...

Last night I played for 6 hours. It was amazing how many people we went through. Literally people would join the group for 15 minutes then dip. Was hoping for more no lifers.

It gets better as you level I think. Big gap from your average Oasis group to your average City of Mist group :)

Oasis crocs and unrest real good spots around 16.
20+ Mistmoore is really popular too.

With most of these HOT spots you'll find many place (Mistmoore comes to mind) can only handle one group per level range. If it is fully camped waiting list mania begins. If you are good at starting a group and hoarding people elsewhere during these times then all the power to you :).
That being said, low level tanks seem to often be in short supply. I have no doubt you will occasionally get random /tells asking if you are lfg.

Swish You can sure tell you have a Cleric lol. I tell people about groups breaking up because you can have too much mana, too much downtime, and they think I am from Mars lol.
Well said. :D

Shaman on live back in the day (often roped in to heal) and a cleric on P99 that I have to admit I rarely log in anymore other than to rez people... but yeah, I like it when you get a good efficient group where the tank holds aggro, the dps is high, the mobs are plentiful and the healer's job is easy :)

I don't think people realize how much harder it is for a warrior to gain and maintain aggro on P99 then it was back on Live. Three quarters of people on blue are twinked to the gills, especially everyones pet monk/epic rogue. I was raged on by a CoF/fungi/epic rogue around level 20 or so in MM for not being able to hold aggro, and don't I should quit the game haha.
I also think a lot of people don't grasp the concept of proxy aggro. Even though I explain it with my warrior every group I get into, and even have a macro for it, I'll have a group with 3-4 root capable casters, and no one will root. I mean no one. Whatsoever. Aggro then proceeds to ping pong around, people get hurt, healer tries healing everyone, constantly OOM, group breaks up. This exact chain of events has happened to me multiple times before, all because people have their own agendas, refuse to listen to other people, or work as a team, because they are trying to exp so frantically as if their life depended on it.
Sorry, that was my root proxy aggro rant. You may proceed with your regularly scheduled programing.

If it helps, as a cleric I used to root (L5) if the warrior was struggling...and yes I'd send him a tell first.
I'd rather burn small mana on a root than large mana healing everyone else who cba to FD, evade or nuke at a sensible percentage ;)
edit: the best warriors knew when something got rooted by spell effects or paying attention to the combat log and would instantly hug the mob.

At least you GET IT. I've literally had to halt pulls/tanking before and break it down Barney style trying to get people to understand. Even then I'd say it was 50/50 at best as to whether or not they'd listen.

Does it make you want to play a knight?

No, not at all. The aggro thing has gotten better/less of a problem as I've leveled up and gotten better weapons. It's just frustrating at times when you group with people who refuse to follow simple directions. It doesn't make me want to play a knight, but it does make me want to join a guild where people have similar goals / abilities. That's not me being some kind of egomaniac / control freak min / max'er either. Its just a matter of working together as a team toward common goals, ya know?
