Hi there. I noticed the other day that the skill level in the main chat box (or wherever you happen to have it) does not necessarily match the skill level under the 'skills' icon.
For example, according to the screenshot that I took and attached to this post, my character is at a lvl 161 dodge skill, however, under the aggregated skills icon box (to the left), the skill has been maxed out at 125 levels ago.
Does this make sense? Does the red text mean that the skill is meant to be maxed out?
Any clarification would help.
Cheers.

Yes. Classic caps enforced on a nonclassic client.

Thanks for the reply. So as I see it, the skills box is the correct skill cap, and not the up-skill notifications in the main chat box. Correct?
If this is the case, then I have another scenario. In the image that I attached to this reply, why isn't the 'sense heading' skill shown in red at 200 like riposte and taunt? I understand that the cap is 200; or at least according to the following site (which may or may not be reliable, but I have found rather accurate thus far):

Anyways, just an inquiry really. Thank you for the speedy replies!

I think it only shows as red to make it clear that the client is lying to you when it says that you're receiving skill-ups. It's saying "No, this is actually what your skill level is at". Since there's no ambiguity that your sense heading skill is at 200, no red text is needed to assure you that you know what the cap is.
