I am thinking about doing National Novel Writers Month in November. I love writing and I write technical documents as part of my job. Pure fiction has been something I enjoy, and I have gone to short story workshops.

Is anyone else considering this?

I've "won" NaNo twice. Last year I was under a contract deadline requiring edits in November so I skipped it. This year - eh I'm still undecided. But the Scrivener Mac software people are releasing the Windows version at a special price to NaNo participants. That by itself has me considering it.

Scrivener is THE sexiest writing software I have seen.

Any way you can post some samples or the story you are planning to submit?

It could be a community effort!

Its got to be a personal effort, AFAIK.

I am mulling that, and I am mulling that my pacing should be per day. It seems that I need to do more than 2000 words/day (1600words/day+400 buffer) which is about double my non-fiction writing load a day. Its definitely hard to write that much fiction a day.

Thanks for posting this! I'm going to give this a shot. It's pretty exciting.

I wish I had the talent to write fiction like David Foster Wallace or Pynchon. I have a semi-decent story idea that I think either one of them could make into an incredibly funny novel.

His stuff is so damn good. Just recently finished Infinite Jest.
