Swishahouse
10-14-2010, 09:34 PM
They played The Decline @ one show I went to it was so ill. Prince Far I is a pretty big Mainstay for me. I had a gap of about 2 years where I wasn't scrobbling so some of the others are different nowadays but Radiohead is for sure still Number 1.
audacity
10-14-2010, 09:38 PM
ahhh The Decline, what a song! I had a friend that was CONVINCED when he smoked out he could watch The Wizard of Oz and play that song it would sync up together perfectly lmao....ahhh weird guy....Radiohead will always be #1 for me I think. Too many good songs/meanings. Good shit!

SO HARD....
Pavement
The Pixies
U2
Radiohead
My Bloody Valentine
Pink floyd
Led Zeppelin
Wu-Tang
Lcd soundsystem
Beastie Boys
I dont really listen to half these that much anymore, but i feel like I should include them because of all the time i spent listening to and idolizing of i did in high school and college.

Yup I agree. In Rainbows was different, but that is the good thing about Radiohead, they never turn stale! I can listen to OK Computer, Kid A, and In Rainbows and be blown away by either one. Kid A is probably my favorite album, but damn, it's hard to chose!
Also I heard Radiohead is planning on releasing an album near the end of the year (I think that's what I heard) I hope they do!

Artist works too...I have some on my computer that I like, can't remember the name of the "main" one I listen to, some Russian guy, apparently is pretty crazy live (Runs to his piano/really energetic)
Of course Ludwig is good too, as well as Mozart.

Classical is a great place to be. Huge genre with alot of niches. I gravitate towards Baroque or Chamber music. Joseph Haydn, J.S. Bach, Luigi Boccherini and the like come to mind off the bat =)

i like citizen fish just fine but they arnt realy up there for me. im not realy a big fan of ska in general but i stuff like against all authority, choking victim all those bands that are pretty much punk with a horn and some fun dancy bass lines and what not.
i just noticed dead milkmen on your list, joe jack talcum did a split pretty recently with erik petersen from mischief brew thats realy good you should check that out. i think he might of did a small solo tour, the guys gotta be in his 50s now and his voice hasnt changed haha.

i like the Minus the Bear and Anthony Green <3 in this thread.
I've been giving this some thought and really have no clue what I would pick. It would be easier for me to choose individual musicians or specific albums, but here's my attempt at bands in no particular order:
1 - Queen
2 - Savatage
3 - Iron Maiden
4 - Dio (Rainbow, Sabbath, and solo eras)
5 - Thin Lizzy (especially with Gary Moore and John Sykes)
6 - Deep Purple
7 - Metallica
8 - Bach
9 - Beethoven
10- Vivaldi
This ignores the jazz and fusion stuff that I love since I really need to be in the right mood to get into that stuff, whereas good classical/metal/rock I can listen to all day every day.

I haven't heard the new MTB cd, but Pachuca Sunrise is one of my favorite songs of all time.

In general yes, but Black Sabbath was better with Ozzy in it (in my humble opinion).

I left out the classics that everyone loves like The Beatles and The Stones, or more controversial greats like NIN or the Chili Peppers because a) obviously they rock and b) I've been on a electronic / indie bender and haven't been listening to much of anything pre-dating like the mid-2000s lately. Also, limiting to just 10 is hard.

"over-nite sensation" and "hot rats" rocked my musical world when I was like 14. I actually have a framed copy of his "we're only in it for the money" album hanging next to a framed copy of the beatles "sgt pepper's" album. (If you know the history of those albums or have seen their covers you'll get why that is awesome)

i spent new years in the french quarter bucking with a huge group of kids we made over a hundred bucks and got all kinds of white boxes and booze. ill always love new orleans. except for the police they are the absolute worst of any city ive ever been in.
the open container law seems only to apply to locals, i made the mistake of almost getting myself thrown in opp one morning at mcdonalds. we couldnt find a place to stash our packs so we just decided fuck it and ate breakfast at mcdonalds, after eating i needed to take a dump, so im shitting and decide ill drink a beer, as soon as i crack it FUCKING ROBOCOP comes in and knocks on the door asking me if i think this place is a bar ITS FUCKING NOLA YEA IT IS A BAR GUY! he ran my id and told me to scoot. i was scared he was going to kick down the door and beat me up while i had shit coming out of my butt.

yeah NOLA popo don't give a fuck, count yourself lucky it was a can and not a bottle. They will fuck you up for having glass.
Vegas is way better in that respect, police there realize harassing the people bringing money into town is a stupid fucking idea. They'll still point assault rifles in your face if you walk down the wrong street at the wrong time though.
