Hey Guys! I want to intoduce myself as nafeasonto.

I played EQ back in 1999 as a wizard.

Well the addiction is creeping up on me again, and I want to play again lol.

However this an important question.

If there are only about 1000 people on the server at any given time, how are we supposed to level up beyond the lower levels after 10. Because if there aren't many people, how do we group etc to level up?

Yes I know that lol. But what I am saying is, is there enough people to group with at any given time? Especially lower levels?

all the time dude. there are mass amounts of people in each level-range it seems.

just depends on what time ya play, sometimes it may be easier to just solo or find a duo partner.

Nefeasonto, welcome! I recently found this server myself and it seems to me that there are plenty of people to group with/duo with at my lvl (13 currently). And if nothing else, usually a higher lvl person on the server has an alt they will be leveling, orc 1 generally has a group there and I normally solo orc 2 or duo it.

With 800-900 most of the main camps are being held. Lack of people is the last problem at times like those.

When I got here, I also wondered what the livliness of the server would be like, given in classic live, we all got used to 2500-3200 or so players at peak times.

In being back, I can say that even 500 people in just the classic content is a living, breathing player base... even if 200 of those folks are in EC.

I think we forget that even though vanilla EQ seemed huge at the time, it seems like even 500 folks can give it life. Of course, once Kunark is released, we can expect to see some of the bustling of life in vanilla to decrease. I think we'll see a slightly thinner layer of players across the world with the expanded size. However, with new arrivals here each and every day, I also think that we'll see this 2nd and 3rd wave of folks leveling up keeping vanilla alive with people.

I wonder where we'll be in a few years... Hopefully in that time frame we can see both Kunark and Velious go live here on P99. I'm so excited for the future of this server. As more people learn of it and come home to classic, and the game world grows... I can't help wondering how many active folks we can expect during peak. 1500? 2000?

What if this community reached 3000 players during peak when all of the classic content is released? Exciting!
