Now that I'm thinking about it not too long ago a guy named Thrakka on the P99 subreddit was bitching about forum/in-game bans. I wonder if it's the same guy.

All i know is watching some youtube vids last night reminded me of what can happen on those live servers, and reaffirmed why p99, despite its issues, is light years more fun to play on -- for my playstyle at least.
