I'm sorta ashamed to be excited about a game in 2015, especially from Bethesda after the steam clusterfuck.

Still, they seem to be bringing it back to non-linear level design, lots of open areas and fighting tons of monsters at once.

Yeah.. I'm a little weirded out Bethesda getting involved in it. But it's probably necessary, ID alone will take forever to get it done.

Not open world, open areas. Think of map thirteen in DOOM II (downtown).

It won't be a game consisting of ninety nine percent hallways like DOOM 3.

Yes, but quake 2 was the best. It is one of the games that is responsible for my career. Built my first PC just to run it properly. Still have my voodoo 2 video card tucked away in a closet somewhere. That game inspired me to learn 3d modeling, sound editing, and image editing just to mod the game.

Still got a heavily modded copy of quake 2 laying around somewhere. It has a ton of my models, textures, and sounds already packed in. Will put it up on a file sharing site once I make it back home. Anyone wanna host a server and play some ctf?

The only games I played more than EQ were Quake/Half Life/UT. One of these days I'll get around to HL 2/Portal.
