View Full Version : Forcing nvidia(gaming laptop)
Did a search and cannot manage to find anything. How are you folks forcing the nvidia graphics as opposed to the horrible intel chipset on this game, I have a 980m graphics in my laptop and it lags, i've set everything in the nvidia control panel to use the High performance option. Ideas?

You may need to change another option to actually show that little "processor" icon that displays active applications on the GPU but I've got to run!

Could also probably go into device manager and disable the intel graphics.

Can you give anymore details than "it just lags" ?

lags as in you run slower then others and such? try turning down your FPS to 30.
my up to date games utilize the 980 and they do not lag, given this games age, there should be zero lag, ever. Also to follow with snacks, I'm unsure you read my post, I did this, even adding eqgame.exe and forcing nvidia.. Also this magical icon you speak of doesnt exist on my laptop.

Check your bios. If your bios don't have it you need to update said bios with one that can disable the intel.

It's interesting because I lag / have poor FPS when running EQ through my high-endish laptop GPU. I actually force it to run through my onboard intel GPU to obtain higher FPS and less lag issues.

It's because both gpus are trying to run at the same time switching back and forth. You must shut down the integrated card off totally.
I've updated my bios, there is still nothing that indicates itself to disabling nvidia optimus or the intel

This is what I did and have not had any issues yet.
