Have you been playing EQ for YEARS?
Has it been a long time since you felt nervous and scared for your character?
Do you miss being challenged?
Do you miss the unexpected?

Then invite me, a clueless newbie, to join you in your adventures!

In the past week:
I rooted a tank instead of casting shield of thistle on him because I still confuse the two spells.
In a moment of panic I almost contributed to the death of that tank because instead of targeting him for my heals I targeted the mob killing him.
I figured only recently the reason my mana was taking so much longer than others to get back was because I did not train the skill meditate.

Me in your group = Guaranteed added challenge.

Seriously,
I never played beyond level 20.
Most of the zones are completely new to me.
I googled and read guides and stuff, but I really could use some tips and would welcome with gratitude any opportunity to group with experienced players who enjoy the company and mistakes of clueless newbies.

I play a druid (I was told it would be easier than rogue) and am currently level 19 and my in game name is Peri. I'll travel to meet you and your group.

This was my introductory post.
Hopefully I won't be condemned to soloing!

Thanks and good luck and lots of fun to all!

Peri

P.S. Many thanks to Skorge the troll, Tappin and Casual the halflings and that mage who likes football and trance music for their tips and patience. Thanks also to the people who make this server available.

Whenever I want to feel totally helpless in EQ I just head to OOT.

It doesn't get much easier than playing a rogue, or any non mana class, but you'll be happy you stuck with druid once you're soloing for $. That's actually where the difficulty is, non mana classes are 99.99% gear dependant and gear of course costs $ or luck on /random.

Good luck new druid, I'd like to contribute to your $ pool for spells, if you see Azeth on /tell me.

Welcome Peri,

I loled because we all made mistake, I remembered when I accidentally targeted mob and did big healed on it instead of my tank. Luckily he lived (thx) due to his crippling blow went off on the mob. Was embarrassing but no one noticed...now they do! lol

huh?

He's not aware that root wouldn't stick on a non-pvp enabled PC, and likely didn't understand what the error message that follows such an action meant.

You sound like Peace Pipe material, and should talk to Toop immediately. Tell him Fourthmeal sent you.

Fourthmeal, I know you can smell that 500th post, but don't let yourself get sloppy.

I regularly cast flame lick on myself. Haven't hit myself with a snare yet, but I know it's coming.

That is the story of Aspen's life. I have many times snared and rooted myself because the icons are the same. What the fuck. I've also healed the mob and one time I ducked and tried to heal while Rockwell was dying(dead.) Ahahahaa and this is all after I got my mage to 50 lol. :(

I never played past 35...and a friend of mine played my char on live between 15 and 20...so yeah...I'm just as bad...lol. In game so far, I've made it to lvl 2 as a pally, and have unsuccessfully cast LoH on two orc centurians, and a bat. I have yet to cast it on myself. So if you want someone to teach, you could send me a tell as well :)

I can tutor you in the ways of forum trolling. It will take patience, a high stamina (you DID put your stats into STA, right?), and lots of practice. Are you in or are you out?
