pras/praz is a term used by drones. (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=drone)

People say it because they're either too lazy or stupid to think of something intelligent or funny to say. Common use includes.. New P99 patch "praz!"... red recruits another person "pras!". etc Mindless with no inclination of self or surroundings. A drone.

A vet can fill you in on the details of the words origins. I've only read what they've said. It has nothing to do with how I describe its common use on the forums.

Well I mean it literally is e-hipster mindless dribble, don't have to be mad or even remotely intelligent to realize that.

Many, many years ago my father told me about the degradation of language. I was too young, and at the time, the Internet didn't even exist, but his point has always stayed with me. This conversation was stemming from a lecture a principal gave me about responding with "yea" instead of "yes".

Google "degradation of english language". Very interesting reads.

Read any written letters or speech's written prior to say circa 1900. Lincoln's Gettysburg Address is a great example. It is incredibly rare to find such poetic writings nowadays.

Also, a more relevant example would be the book, Atlas Shrugged - by Ayn Rand. The movie exemplified this point with the future scenes. Tom Hank's character was using a very broken/simple english.

Where will our spoken/written languages be in 1000 years?

The word "yeah" has an h on the end, speaking of degradation of the (written) language.

You say degradation, I say evolution.

You are correct sir, my own typo, sorry.

Also thought of another fun example/"evolution":

The sadly, short lived TV series Firefly. If you are a fan, you know what I mean.

P99 version of the like button. Also evidence of memetics at work in modern gaming culture. Use is more commonly a type of positive in-joke than genuine unfettered praise. If people are being serious then they will either wax rhapsodic about it or use standard English (possibly both at the same time if we're lucky).

it's a red cultural thing, it's aproval or support in meaning. Nothing specific and no abbreviation. Pras means pras.

Someone you like gets killed and the server broadcasts the kill in what we call "yellow text": Pras

Someone says something you agree with: pras

It can also be used as a bit of a tease.

Someone says something so stupid you almost feel sorry for them: pras

Its most common use is both approval and taunting of a yellow text kill. Most often when a bigger name on the server goes down. It doesn't really matter who gets the kill, it's about who got killed.
