Do we have any trust worthy type swappers on here? I remember Amratoth used to do this awhile back. Thanks.

look for people in some of the major guilds bc their members usually will be held accountable if you ever get screwed

the bigger and more established the guild, the more likely you will find players who have been here a while and are trust worthy.

Taken peeps in the tunnel are usually very helpful if they are not AFK

Anyone here play The Realm, and remember how important reputation was on there? Every trade with anything of even minor value generally involved a reputable "middleman". Game had no direct trading function, at least not for the few years I played it. Really encouraged social interaction and positive reputation building.

I was only about 13 at the time, but I spent countless months doing small transfers to build a decent reputation. Good times.

As for P99, the above poster's advice is pretty sound. Most people with quality gear in a high-level guild will not scam you. I can personally vouch for a lot of people if you are really worried about it.

Argh and Bobbarker are good guys, when they can be found in EC.

If its a high value item or a large amount of plat I'd be careful now... don't want to get banned for handling RMT'ed items.

Holy shit dude I loved the realm!

Always that "you hand first" "no u hand first" then u gotta find a middleman. Realm was goat, especially when pickpocket ing and PvP were still good (mainly version 2x).

I played it again a couple years ago and got an all strength giant thief to level 1k. But most of the remaining population isn't mid levels grouping anymore. It's mostly dudes hanging in a couple townie spots and running dragons pit over and over.

"Drop trade and pray" method?

Usually, just find someone with an epic in a guild that is level 50+, typically a good bet.

For some things that I would rather have more security, I go to a secret location and drop the item(s) in a bag on the ground.

Thulack is the king of transfers - if someone is seriously concerned about it, I would take this advice here.

If your worried about RMT take SS and log chat. That way at least if you get caught in a ban for transferring RMTd item then you have something to show the GMs. I haven't heard of them banning someone just for helping transfer an item.

I would also suggest using judgement if a level 1 asks you to transfer a couple million plat or a Fungi staff(prenerf) then I would probably decline. If something doesn't seem right I would decline. If someone is asking you to trade large amounts of plat between multiple people or to multiple people I would decline. Use common sense I doubt anyone will be upset if you decide to say no prior to agreeing to do the trade. Worst case scenario if you think that you have been a part of a bad trade that may impact you then petition. I know the GMs are busy but giving them a heads up might save you trying to log in to find yourself suspended/banned later.

Yeah just look for a guild tag and a familiar name and I don't think there will be any problems. I've done a lot of random transfers, and I did once take a chance with 15k in items but I was confident in the guild and the p1999 community. It's really not worth giving yourself a bad name on the server just for some plat.

Oh and I am willing to assist with a trade if I have room or time. But I am not guilded on Blue99 just so you know before you send me a tell. That doesn't mean I'm not honest I just know how much stock people put in someone's guild tag.

Can I just create a second account and have my girlfriend go on her computer and assist with an xfer even though she has never played?

Only if you enjoy being single.
