This is how Rickroll began. Someone received a message from the future. For whatever reason this message was a video from the past.

Ever since the 1999 Never Gonna Give You Up singularity the internet has become more and more obsessed with this song and why it was transmitted in the anachronistic way it was. The obsession cumulates in 2015, where it is sent back to the past, renewing the cyclical nature of Rick 'Roll' (hence the name).
