Skill Points: What do YOU use them for?

After all my years in EQ, I never really figured out what to do with Skill Points. Someone told me very early on in my history with the game to covet them, and as a result, all of my characters ended up with some large pool of points just sitting there, unused.

All I use them for is:

-Unlocking new class skills (of course).
-"De-Frosting" 0-value weapon/casting skills (ie, 2 Hand Slashing from 0 -> 1 because the 0 -> 1 skillup always seems rather painful).

-RARELY to jump-start a profession (I'd rather throw 15-20 points at Tailoring than waste 120 Silks).

Is there any other use I'm missing?

If you're an INT caster, you wanna save them for Research.

If you're a monk, you save them for Feign Death, after spending a few in Bind Wound and Mend, just to get them going.

as a warrior...you do whatever you want with them :D

I used a bunch for Pick Locks, Forage, etc. Any of the skills that don't go up ezpz on their own.

if we were going to PoP as a rogue you'd save them for make poison

since we're not, spend them on language: elder dragon b/c it's the coolest.

You just have to put one point into a language and have someone that knows it spam you in group

For tanks, consider 2hb.
Kunark will have some nice 2handers for pallies, SKs... heck even monks and warriors.

I dumped it in stupid stuffs that I was too lazy to do like swimming, H2H, Archery. Just get them high enough to get by.

research if your an int caster. spending 3k on skill points to lvl up is way easier than trying to find all those words and lvl up the skill through combines.

I NEVER had beg work on Live. Not once. I must of done it multiple thousand times to seeming no effect.

First day on P1999: I get 3 times it works for 2cp each, twice I get killed.

I skilled up begging on Lucky the Beggar in HHK. Most entertaining way to do it IMO.

Speaking of which, unless someone just gave him something every time I happen to run by, I haven't seen the Greedy Beggar in P99.
