Hey folks. If you haven't been following what I've been up to lately, for the past year I've been developing a machine that recycles hazardous chemicals. I prototyped it last summer, demoed it last fall proving it can get 99% purity or better, then picked up a contract to build a 20 liter stainless steel industrial pilot.

Interest has been growing to the extent that I've picked up a few competitive backers. But the relevant part is that I'm one of the three applicants who was selected globally to speak at the ACS Green Chem & Engineering Conference at the NIH in two weeks. The top presenter gets some decent seed funding; but more importantly, some notoriety and very important introductions to investors and entrepreneurship networks focused on the sustainable engineering community.

The winner is determined not only by the presentation at the conference, but also by a social media competition. So, here's how you can help this badass invention start making a difference ASAP:

Share this post (https://www.facebook.com/matt.miles.52643/posts/1086014861427507), every share is 1 vote
Donate on the gofundme page (http://www.gofundme.com/2015greenbizplan), and cast your vote for Verdant in the ballot the ACS will email you.

This video (http://youtu.be/uT3n0Jh1_Fs) is also posted on the gofundme page, but I'm linking it here because it should give you a pretty good idea about what I'm doing.

The ACS is the American Chemical Society (http://www.gcande.org/program/business-plan-competition/). They're the most influential organization in my field, so this is about as legit as it gets. A competitive invitation to speak at this conference, should speak volumes about the work I'm doing - especially at my age.

Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for your support.

I'd share it but the freaks on Red99 could find out my real name, im not putting myself at that much of a risk of online harrassment, from people with mental issues with too much time on their hands, sorry. I keep my red99 life and private life very segregated. Thats the only segregation i can think of that i can support.

Meh, with my startup my RL name is all over the place. Cat is out of the bag at this point. Not that i'm too worried about it. But then I don't have the reputation of some people here.

This idea and Uthgaard is worth supporting.

Yeah, what Bob said. I was talking to Dhani Jones a couple weeks ago and he was saying how paparazzi followed him around in Pittsburgh, but in New York they left him alone. It all comes down to whether people have more important things to care about, and in the global online community, as he put it, "you find out you're really not that important".

I've connected with everybody from Naez to Heallun on facebook. I stay in touch with a decent amount of the people from here. They're not really as crazy as they seem in this game.

Confirmed that I've already opened up several porn site accounts and chain letter virus email rings under Bob's real name. Life is good.

GL on this endeavor.

Thanks!

So there are two days left of the social media competition. Unfortunately one of the competitors has family with such deep pockets that they can repeatedly drop hundreds of dollars into the competition for votes, which is very disappointing, because this shouldn't be about having your rich grandma buy your victory. I've been working on my technology for the past year at such great personal expense that I can't even afford to rent a suit for the presentation.

I chose this road because I want to use science to solve some of the biggest problems we face, and I don't intend to stop with this one. I believe in what I'm doing and will see it succeed no matter what, but I'm hoping that this can reach enough people who also believe in what I'm doing, because this competition has yet to see what genuine support for a worthy idea really looks like.

Wait a min...

You mean you have stopped anonymously emailing players employers in hopes of getting them fired because you were on a butthurt power trip in a elf-sim?

Tell me more....

Thanks everyone for all of your support. I came away the winner. The surprised look on my face is because I won even though I lost the social media component, and gave my presentation exhausted after driving all night, wrecking my car, making it run again, overheating 5 times in DC traffic, and still making it there.
