I'm pretty sure that's exactly what that is.

The dragon picture is an actual painting. I remember seeing the original at some point, but after fifteen years there are a bajillion more dragon pictures than there were when EQ was made, so I'm not able to find it again.

As for the weird drawings in Halas, those are sort of medieval/anglo-saxon style drawings of...dogs...or lions...or strange bat-eared, lion-tailed beings that the unwashed masses likely thought were real at the time, much like they thought too much bathing was bad for you.

Loved the video OP, very well done! I think it was 4 years ago when a original dev from EQ said Everquest still had hundreds of unsolved quests that players did not solve or even know existed. Based on things like what you mentioned, symbols, maybe hidden clues within paintings or written on walls. After all it is called Everquest.

I once saw a picture in EQ I think in a neriak building that was an actual painting that my mother had in our house. The title of the painting is "The beautiful lady without mercy" (La Belle Dame sans Merci).
