Weekend Update

Sorry all for not getting the Weekend Goals post up.

As you all know we had the bonus EXP weekend, and I'm sure a lot of you made good use of this bonus. I hope everyone had a fun weekend in game and out.

Friday: Didn't get to play EQ. This weekend was a party with the gf weekend.

Saturday: I had time to play EQ, and was going to, yet New Vegas called my attention. I think I logged about 1 hour of EQ that day. I then had a party that night.

Sunday: Again, could of played EQ, but New Vegas took over again. Got in long enough to catch guild meeting. Then hit the bar for karaoke.


Again, you can just post about what you did in game. You don't have to talk about your personal life at all.

I leveled my Necro from 19 to 27 and gained about 1.2k plat in the process =D

I didn't even play non-stop or all that much - I can't imagine how many levels I would have gained if I had done that.

Friday: Got in about 5 hours of EQ after the xp bonus was initiated. For a time it was double xp not just +50% (Thanks Rogean!). Started with my DE mage at level 8 in Nek killing those extremely annoying Piranhas. I mean come on! They come after me after I deal 5 damage to them while my pet is raping them from behind. Where's the logic?

Saturday: Got in about 6 hours of EQ. Moved from Nek to LS after a quick check out of Befallen. No thanks! It was a train-ridden corpse-laden graveyard in that hole (fitting, eh?). Camped at the Najena line and just kept pulling.

Sunday: Got in about 4 hours of EQ. Still hung out at the Najena line and am only a couple bubs from 16. I realized that I have CRAP from equipment and only ~50 plat to my name. What do people do to really bring in the plat?!?! Didn't get to attend the event but from what I've read so far, it was a guild-targetted event with so many people in zone that most froze up. Sounds like a successful stress test to me.

Also, stuck with a whole bowl of candy because we took our kids around the neighborhood and, by the time we got back, only two groups of kids came by our house.

Made it from 45 to 50, joined a guild that I really enjoy and picked up Maestro's haste gauntlets.

Sunday: Got in about 4 hours of EQ. Still hung out at the Najena line and am only a couple bubs from 16. I realized that I have CRAP from equipment and only ~50 plat to my name. What do people do to really bring in the plat?!?!

Here's a couple ways:

1) North Karana: Farm Willowisps and Grizzly Bears. Sell regular lightstones for about 9 gold each, give Greater lightstones to one of the gypsies at the NK gypsy camp (I believe she's the southernmost gypsy, i.e. the direction of the spires or the guard tower - hail her, she'll provide some kind of dialogue which indicates she's the right one) - she gives you a concordance of research - you sell the concordance for about 9 plat 5 gold. You can usually sell the Grizzly Bear Skins (not "thick grizzly bear skin", just "grizzly bear skin") for about 20-25 plat to tailors. It's one of the components in this (http://www.lokari.net/everquest/tailoring.html#bear_skin_potion_bag). You can also sell any HQ bear skins you pick up for 10 plat (I usually pay 15 because I'm a greedy tailor). They're used in Handmade Backpacks.

Plus, there's a ton of stuff around 12-17 you can hunt for exp while you do that...

2) At 16, my necro was strong enough to fear kite Saben Tucross in lfay. I did that until 19 (she was still red) and instead went to kill the millers in Qeynos Hills for better exp. Saben drops a plat or so every kill and occasionally drops fine steel. Killing her will turf your gnome factions (if your a dark elf, who cares). She's 22/23ish, so it may be a really tough fight for a mage. She is a 6 minute respawn, so your pet should have time to regen and you should have time to med. It might be one of those fights where you DS up your earth pet, and chain nuke the garbage out of her while hoping root sticks. There's a zone line nearby, so if you're quick with your jumps and aren't bullheaded, you can probably get away if things go sour. She does hit hard, though..

3) If you care not for your bard factions, you can camp Misty Storyswapper in Qeynos hills. She probably drops bronze weapons, given her level and the fact she's not a typical mob... There's also wisps that run around..just beware of pathing Qeynos guards. They don't like dark elves.

I leveled my enchanter from level 42 to level 48 blowing through level 45 in 2 hours and 45 minutes and soloed Coralyn Kelpmaiden for a Sharkskin drums at level 48 at the end of the night to send the weekend off with a bang!

Friday played for a few hours in Oasis group. Got lvl 17-18.

Saturday was at a Halloween party too late.

Sunday played a few hours in Oasis group, got lvl 19.

Didnt get as much as we wanted, but we got to the next level of the wife's cleric spell line and enough levels to head to Guk now! =)

Now I'm really wishing I put off Fallout New Vegas for this. Damn. Oh well. I kind of hit a wall with level 19 as a druid. I tried crags in EK, but they kill me too well, and they were camped. I tried beetles in NK, but blues mehhh. I tried SK elephants and centaurs and avoks but too social.

I just want a nice camp spot where I can single pull.

Went From 1 kill into 45 when I logged in Friday night to 50 when I logged last night.

I'm fairly sure bouncers hope they never see me again.

Mage went from 18 to 20 on Friday eve, (LS/Najena line as well), steenking warbound Monk though he's damned unfriendly and my pet just loved to mess with him.

Got a bunch of itemization transferring completed. because I'm a pack rat and save spell research drops for necromancer and enchanter. (as well as mage of course).

Wish I would of had more time to play around but Halloween and funeral services called.
