Hi guys,

I am new to p1999. I played EQ back in the day from early 2000-late 2004. Of late, I have been missing the 'good old days' when MMOs were games for real men (and women), and so when I heard about p1999 (on another major MMO's forum, of all places) I was like "Sweet!" and came on over to set it up.

However, after getting into the game, I realized that whilst I remember the basic outline of things - most of the specifics have fled my alcohol and age-weakened mind. So my question is, are there any good guides out there for p1999 or Everquest (that are still applicable) that cover like, what to do when you JUST start? Like, "Hey dummy, here's what you need to be doing." For example, I couldn't even figure out which vendors had all my level 1 spells last night. Basic junk like that.

Any help is appreciated, as I want to get back into the EQ I remember (or near enough, since I started just after Kunark's release in Live), but am having a bit of a hard time re-adjusting!

Thanks!

You can try our wiki (http://moestaverne.com/p1999wiki/) guide which will break down each class. I know my Druid and mage parts on the wiki tell me the spells which I can buy, and then I use EQ Zam (eq.zam.com) to figure out which NPC will sell the spell.

Or what I also did, was explored.

Basically, just start grinding mobs and exploring. Not much of a direction to head in. Just pick up your sword or staff, memorize your favorite spell, and slash/blast away those pesky pests.

Welcome to P99!
There are a TON of places to choose from. I'll link you a few I use.

Database(note:This iscludes all expansion, so a majority of the information may be wrong): ZAM (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/)

Maps(Again they have expansions): MapFiend (http://www.mapfiend.net/)

Wiki(I have just recently found this myself and found it quite helpful as a low level):P99 Wiki (http://moestaverne.com/p1999wiki/index.php/Main_Page)
